Nominated as one of the IRB's Players of the Year in 2004, Joubert scored a memorable hatrick against the All Blacks.
Since then his career has been blighted by injury and lack of form. Things got so bad that Western Province decided not to renew his contract for 2007.
In stepped Rassie Erasmus to snap up the Springbok centre. Springbok and Cheetahs fans will be hoping that Rassie can work some of his magic an get the best out of the player in 2007.
Joubert has a deadly sidestep, phenomenal pace and a love for the outside gap. He glides past defenders with his long strides and eye for the gap.
At times his defence can be a little shaky. He rushes out on defence (something that isn't a problem for the Springboks) and this can leave gaping holes for opponents.
There are also question marks over his commitment and hunger to once again scale the dizzy heights achieved in 2004 and deliver on the promise and potential shown.
