Fourie du Preez made his Super rugby debut for the Bull versus the Brumbies in 2003 and went on to make his international debut in 2004 against Ireland.

He had an excellent 2006 season for both his club and country, which resulted in him being named as South Africa's Player of the Year, and he was nominated for the IRB Player of the Year award.

In 2007, he had another good season for the Bulls before injury struck but he was still selected in the squad for the 2007 Rugby World Cup in France.

Du Preez played a blinder of a tournament in France and firmly established himself as the best scrumhalf on the world scene.

Having previously represented South Africa at U19 level, du Preez was part of the U21 side that won the first U21 World Cup in 2002.

Fourie du Preez captained the Bulls in the 2008 Super 14 and will again have a huge influence on the team’s performance during this year’s competition.

He has the outstanding ability to make the right call at the right time and quite a lot of the Bulls’ game plan depends on his tactical kicking.

Despite his young age he has already won a World Cup, two Super 14s, two Tri-Nations, a British Lions series and more than one Currie Cup to his name.
