Morne Steyn played understudy to Derrick Hougaard for some time at the Bulls, but really broke into the big time follow Hougaard's departure for England.
Steyn conquered all before him in 2009 winning the Super 14, Currie Cup and breaking into the Springbok team which beat the British & Irish Lions as well as won the Tri-Nations and pulled off a clean sweep over the All Blacks.
Steyn was orginally known as a running flyhalf with a slightly suspect kicking game, but hard work in that area turned him into a deadly goal kicker.
He ended the 2009 Super 14 as the leading points scorer, set a record of four dropped goals in one game.
Steyn also starred in the 31-9 win over the All Blacks in Durban where he scored all of the Springboks' points - breaking numerous records in the process.
