Predicted Super 14 log
Monday, February 11
As part of our Super 14 team previews we've included a predicted log finish for each team ahead of the Super 14. It is a continued source of debate in the SARugby.com HQ as we try to get our heads around the possible permutations for the upcoming season.
There are so many factors to consider this year with the so-called 'player exodus', the return of the All Blacks, the ELVs, the draw and new coaches - to name just a few. We've made our best predictions, but we still can't shake the feeling that this year could become a bit of a lottery!
Here are the rankings of the sides according to our predictions. Click on the team name for a link to the full SARugby.com preview.
As always, we'd like to hear where we've gone wrong, where we've got it right and exactly how you'd rate the sides going into Super 14 2008.

Are you on CRACK?
Deans coaches the Crusaders, not the Waratahs. After the S14 he will coach the Wallabies (you know, the Australian national team).
Stormers, Lions, Cheetahs, Reds will all be in the bottom half of the log.
What about teams like the Bulls, Sharks, Blues, Hurricanes, to name but a few.
If you've got no idea whatsoever of what you're talking about, then rather shut the fark up!
I would go:
Crusaders
Sharks
Blues
Waratahs
Bulls
Hurricanes
Force
Brumbies
Highlanders
Stormers
Chiefs
Cheetahs
Lions
Reds
You seem to know everything about rugby
"You people... you have short memories...."
Not even a year after the bulls won the S14, and already you'r writing them off.
matfield is NOT coming back!
Bakkies will miss the first few games, no gary botha and no roets.
Well that opens up some interesting places for new players. Zane Kirchner looked really good in CC, hope he can adjust. I think the bulls as a team is still contenders for semi's, only worry I have about my bulls is the coach...
Heyneke always had a structured gameplan. And he has shown countless times that he can stir the bulls from slumber, but ludeke couldn't even muster a meow from the cats.
If that spiral starts downward I fear so will our log position.
This is a lot like the Jose Morinho and Avan Grant change at chelsea. Although i'd rate grant a better coach.
Like I said, i'll pray and hope we continu and don't just snuff out.
2.Crusaders
3.Bulls
4.Sharks
The Chiefs have been the form team (apart from the Crusaders) in NZ rugby the last couple of years and are due to hit straps sometime.
The Crusaders still have so much depth and talent.
Bulls have a lot of Boks and experience in S14/12 semi's the last 3 years, good draw and seem to peak at the right time every year)
Sharks have talent, but lack experience in crunch games (they also lost JS, Butch, Percy and last year's Bok test against the Barbarians had a lot Sharks players on the field and they all self destructed in difficult conditions)
Bulls to end bottom of log.................
......all rite, bring on the abuse ?????
cheetahs
etc etc Go naka and the mana from the freestate!!
