Stormers

Liebenberg back for Stormers

Wednesday, March 10 Tiaan Liebenberg returns from illness to anchor the scrum in the only change in the Stormers’ starting line-up for the clash against the Hurricanes at Newlands on Saturday.

Liebenberg was withdrawn from the side at the final hour before the match against the Highlanders last weekend due to flu. His replacement, Deon Fourie, scored a try in a strong performance, but coach Allister Coetzee has opted to reinstate the bigger and stronger Liebenberg.

"It's a very strong scrummaging pack that we're up against. They'll probably target our scrum, but I'm very confident with the way we've been scrumming," said Coetzee.

Fourie reverts to the bench at the expense of Hanyani Shimange, who drops out of the matchday 22 after a brief return to Super Rugby.

This is a make or break game for the Stormers. It's time to determine whether they truly are contenders or just pretenders. The 'Canes might've lost to the Cheetahs last week, but their still a quality side and will be out for retribution this week!

C'mon guys, show SA what you're made of! Very Happy

I think there are lots of positive signs in the Stormers camp. The fitness level looks good and it's clear that there is a healthy team spirit. Players are really pushing each other for places and there is noticeable improvement weekly. Forwards are grafting very hard... I'm very excited about Saturday and the rest of the season!

Sireli, your chance is well deserved after last week's performance - now make it count (read: please don't do anything stupid...)!

Come on, boys, give those Canes a lekka klap! GO STORMERS!!!

Has anyone else noticed that there seems to be a much improved team spirit at the Stormers since our friend Watson buggered off? On top of that, the Stormers are performing better than they did the whole time he was there. Coincidence???

Liebenberg is awesome!! Think Kobus said this and oh so true.. If he was playing in another generation he could have had 50+ caps for the boks.

Jack you are right there. If the Stormers can walk away with a victory, they'll be a force 2 b reckoned with.

Definitely Bluebok, it's been evident from their first warm-up game. The team seems more at ease, but more importantly, everyone seems to be playing according to a game-plan and for the team itself.

It's no longer a case of Luke selfishly holding on to the ball as much as he can! Mad It's great & we can thank our lucky stars that he decided to leave, because I doubt Jaque and Habana would've signed if he were still there.

Go Stormers!

This is a 10-log-points-game. In the ideal case we win it and you have five points more than a strong competitor for the semis, in the worst case you have five less than this competitor.

Really hope all the SA teams can make us proud this weekend.Bulls and Stormers must win.Really interrested to see
how the Stormers will travel this year as they seem to take a lot from being at Newlands.Jacque Fourie seems to be very quiet this season.Congrats on winning the IRB Try of the year award Jacque!!!
