Let the games begin!!!

By Javelin - Castle Braai recommendations: 0
So, the 2 teams with the ugliest kit announced their teams first. Maybe it's to divert attention from their clothing...

By forgottenplayer - Castle Braai recommendations: 0
Can not wait!

By Gron - Castle Braai recommendations: 0
Yeah Javelin. Maybe all 4 the unimaginative blue wearing teams will be next.

By crazysharksman - Castle Braai recommendations: 0
Ah man I can not believe its this time of the year again! Endless weeks of rugby heaven!

Whoohoo, gone are the dark early months where the braaiplace feels so boring without the excitement of a big game!

Ladies and gents, welcome to rugby season 2010.
Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

By crazysharksman - Castle Braai recommendations: 0
OJA Gareth and team... Loved the stats last year, we want all again!

By Javelin - Castle Braai recommendations: 0
Lol Gron, if you've seen the Bulls jersey of this year you will agree that it is anything but 'unimaginative'.

The most beautiful jersey in the competition, closely followed by the Sharks I must say.

By crazysharksman - Castle Braai recommendations: 0
Why don't you gayboys stop b!tching about the prettiest jersey.. Whats next, which oke has the prettiest hair? prettiest boots?

RUGBY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

By Javelin - Castle Braai recommendations: 0
Yeah you Sharks have had most of those discussions on your own or with the Stormers, while us Bulls have been concentrating on the important stuff...

RUGBY!!!!!! And trophies.

By crazysharksman - Castle Braai recommendations: 0
Haha whatever you say, my girlfriend would comment on stupid crap like that. Maybe ur a female... Would explain a lot! Exclamation

By Javelin - Castle Braai recommendations: 0
CSM... It's just getting a bit boring now commenting on all our trophies. Looking for a change of scenery and all that before the rugby proper starts.

For you, on the other hand, trophies would be a whole new world.

By Javelin - Castle Braai recommendations: 0
So you would be happy if your Sharks played in fishnets for jerseys?

By crazysharksman - Castle Braai recommendations: 0
LOL you the only moron commenting on trophies cause you have nothing more intelligent to say. One trick pony, a very girly one too Rolling Eyes

By crazysharksman - Castle Braai recommendations: 0
No but im sure you would then you could check out the players even more.. Javelin rugby is not for sissies hey? Shocked

By Javelin - Castle Braai recommendations: 0
So why are the Sharks still playing then?

By Javelin - Castle Braai recommendations: 0
So you think discussing something like jerseys makes you gay? You clearly have to widen your horizons, boet.

Jack Daniels won't stand by you your whole life.

By crazysharksman - Castle Braai recommendations: 0
Jack Daniels for me.. First Watch for you. Laughing

Anyway, sorry Gareth. Javelin and I have been chirping each other for a while now, but Im sure he'll agree its nothing personal.

Thanks for a great site!

I'll go easy on him from now.

Cool

Picks for the week-

Blues
Brumbies
Bulls
Crusaders
waratahs
Stormers
Sharks

By Javelin - Castle Braai recommendations: 0
Great spirit CSM... appreciate that you don't take it personally. If it wasn't for this banter, it just wouldn't be rugby.

Could be much fun if we 2 sit around a braai for a Bulls-Sharks match Twisted Evil

Yeah this site is much more decent than some others floating around.

By Stormer10 - Castle Braai recommendations: 0
Javelin, stop hitting on Crazysharksman

By Javelin - Castle Braai recommendations: 0
Why, have you booked him for the week? Rolling Eyes

By crazysharksman - Castle Braai recommendations: 0
Ah man if I comment now I'm definitely getting kicked off.. Cheers till tomorrow.

By Javelin - Castle Braai recommendations: 0
Yeah, it might get unwittingly personal and un-funny from here on. Sorry Stormer10 but we sign off here.

By smart - Castle Braai recommendations: 0
Why the hell put the teamsheet: round 1 up when only two teams have announced there teams, is this an article that just couldn’t wait!!! How does this give us any insight into what is going on. Evil or Very Mad

By Javelin - Castle Braai recommendations: 0
smart - remember they did it last year as well. As soon as the first team gets announced they put up this thread. It gets updated for every team as soon as it is announced.

I think it's one of the best features of this site.

By Javelin - Castle Braai recommendations: 0
Predictions:

Hurricanes
Brumbies
Bulls
Crusaders
Draw
Stormers
Sharks

If this happens, will it be the first time ever that 4 away teams have won in one week?

By mikes - Castle Braai recommendations: 0
its so sweet to see javelin and crazy making up before the real stuff starts next week... love this site.. hey crazy where is our mate "closet shark " theses days??? can't wait till friday. SA teams are going to rule this year..

By bluebok - Castle Braai recommendations: 0
Loving it!!! Damn the weekend is still so far away.

By youliedtometappe - Castle Braai recommendations: 0
This is definitely one of my favourite features of this site.

It's also a great place for us to have a really long thread (the whole week) to banter and chat.

Personally I think the Force, Reds and Highlanders are going to really battle along with our Lions and Cheetahs. Hope I'm wrong about the Cheetahs though.

By crazysharksman - Castle Braai recommendations: 0
Haha mikes who is he again? Nitronic or was it BullsRob?? Haha the arguments havent even started my friend! mhuwhawhawha Twisted Evil

By Gron - Castle Braai recommendations: 0
Heard Kaplan is still on the Bulls payroll. Wonder what baffling calls he'll make this week?!

By BerlinMike - Castle Braai recommendations: 0
I think the Highlanders and maybe the Force are looking better this season. All the teams seem to be better on paper actually. Should be a good comp

By Stormer10 - Castle Braai recommendations: 0
Javelin, I can't believe you stole what would've been my chirp.

By mikes - Castle Braai recommendations: 0
crazy it was bullsrob, I think he has gone into hiding and will make a come back soon, using a different name...

By RugbyGal - Castle Braai recommendations: 0
Well Jav - WO won the Cosmo competition. And his GF said in one article he has more shoes than she has. So I guess you guys will go for the pretty jerseys! Laughing

By BullsRob - Castle Braai recommendations: 0
Allow me to wade into this arguement and say out-right. THE SHARKS ARE GOING DOWN AGAIN! Quicker than a home sick mole.

Not a fan of the Sharks and never will be! One Freudian slip and its what you hang on to. Its the kinda stuff my wife hangs on to! I hope you do better than the NZ based teams but you'll probably choke again.

Javelin my man, good to see you again and good to be back! Time to retain the trophy. Looks like the Stormers are (and I guess always have been) our only competition in SA.

Back to topic 1 - the Sharks jersey looks poke! What were they thinking? Must admit it looked better last year! Reebok have screwed it up!!!

By RugbyGal - Castle Braai recommendations: 1
Nice going BullsRob. No better competition than the Bulls vs WP/Stormers one. I hope for once my team won't let me down again! Getting all excited about the weekend. More than enough cricket for me now. Altough those Proteas made me proud today!

And don't even start bout the Mighty Stormers jersey's for the warm-ups. Us fans signed it. Laughing They just giving it back to the fans.

On the forum we have a log prediction game: Feel free to join in! You have time to predict yours until the last game of the 2nd round.

http://www.sarugby.com/news/Forums/viewtopic/t=2893.html

By Javelin - Castle Braai recommendations: 0
Yes RG, if i read that, i would have had to be gay.

By mikes - Castle Braai recommendations: 0
hey bullsrob, welcome back pal, where you been...? fully agree with you only 2 teams in SA this there the champion bulls and stormers.. oh and please watch your typo's this year!!!

By barter - Castle Braai recommendations: 0
awesome stuff - have a sneaky feeling about the stormers this year, but we say that every year don't we Smile

By rugby-man - Castle Braai recommendations: 0
Can riaan viljoen drop kick as far as francois steyn? I havnt seen him play much but I know he can kick 60m penalties of the tee

By smart - Castle Braai recommendations: 1
To the bulls and stormers fans out there.

You have not won anything yet there are some big games coming up and a long season ahead of every team. The bulls have some new combinations and are missing a few of there big names, the stormers haven’t come close to winning something in years and just because you have had a few good pre season games doesn’t put you in contention for the super 14 final. Just remember the sharks and the cheetahs have some great players who can turn it on at any time.

I think you guys are counting you chickens before they hatch and I will be the first one on this sight laughing at the stormers when they fall from the lofted pedestal they have placed themselves on just because they have bought a couple of good players.

By lash - Castle Braai recommendations: 0
smart, nobody ever counted any chickens. i think the guys are just pumped to finally see some s14 rugby again and as usual everyone is backing their team 100%. just because nobody is giving the sharks or the cheetahs a tit's chance doesn't mean you must get all worked up. we are blessed with some awesome rugby squads. look at the line-ups for the bulls cheetahs game. i can't wait. we'll have a fair go at each other after the weekend? Cool

By Stormer10 - Castle Braai recommendations: 0
Rugbyman, in Kimberly last year he was slotting them from 50-60m out.

My take on the season to come....

Top 6 In no particular order...
Bulls (Need to win away, and get a semi in SA if they want to win it again)
Crusaders (They're just too good, they'll be in the top 3)
Stormers and Hurricanes (Enough talent to take over a small country, but inconsistent enough to shoot themselves in the back more than once... )
Sharks (Struggling for depth in key positions but a settled squad that should do well, they'll miss Frans Steyn a lot)
Brumbies (Best Aussie side, they'll do well with their annoying but incredibly clever rugby)

Mid table

Blues (they'll play some spectacular rugby, and some awful rugby, and will ponder what should have been at the end of the season, could be Stephen Brett's breakthrough season)
Waratahs (they'll be really boring to watch...)
Chiefs (predicting what the chiefs will do is about as useful as trying to wash your socks in the microwave with a plastic spoon and a jar of mayonnaise...)
The Force (See comment for the Chiefs)

The Bottom 4 In no particular order

The Cheetahs, (They'll upset one of the SA sides in the dying stages of the competition and cost them a home semi final, but other than that...)
The HIglanders (they will fligh valiantly, but still lose)
The Reds, (Like the Blues, they'll play some spectacular rugby, except they'll still lose)
And the Lions... (They've lost their best players, but they have a good coach, who knows...)

By PIKiwi - Castle Braai recommendations: 0
Game of the week blues vs canes. What a way to start the super 14 year. Two abs front rows going at it as well as two deadly back lines, Canes have an entire abs backline except number 10. In total 20 abs will be featuring in this game I can’t wait.

Predictions
CANES (have to stay loyal to the home town)
BRUMBIES (without a doubt one of the most dangerous looking teams they've ever had and IMO top 4 contenders)
BULLS (no brainer but the backline looks pretty weak this year with out Habana)
SADAS (even though the Highlanders have won the last two but with carter back it'll be a different story)
REDS (have a feeling these guys could be the surprise package this year)
STORMERS (looking very strong this year with Habana and Fourie in the mix, believe they could surpass the sharks as one of the favourites)
SHARKS (this was a hard one but the sharks will just have a little bit more and Chiefs have never been good playing away)

Over kiwi team to win the super 14
Very Happy

By RugbyHeads - Castle Braai recommendations: 0
Hey guys, very useful concept this page (especially for Fantasy Rugby players!).

It would be even better if you could include the kickoff date/time for the different time zones that Super 14 is played in. You could either use the timezone that a logged in user selects for their profile or otherwise just put the all the times, which might be most useful. You could even put the alternative times in as title values on the local SA time for the game, so we could just mouse-over to see the time in our zone.

Keep up the good work, and go Crusaders! Smile

By Unbiased - Castle Braai recommendations: 0
If you are in Perth +8 hours , Brisbane +9 hours , syndey ,Canberra +10 hours

And the New Zealand time zones are give or take +11 hours

I am talking under correction, but this ought to be an indication of when the games start abroad . Smile

Hey everyone

Looking forward to a year of great bentering and moaning from just about everyone on this site.

Couple of comments. The stormers haven't put themselves on a pedestal. The pedestal came from fans and the media (must say I agree they are looking awesome), but the team itself remains humble. Both coach and captain have repeatedly said that even though they enjoyed the pre season games, they still didn't have any log points and taht is what counts. Coetzee also said that the camp is full of confidence but not arrogance and I think that is the right attitude.

Can't believe I am actually going to miss this weekends games, planned a hiking trip a long time ago and didn't realise the Rugby started already.

Thank God it's 2010 and thank god 2009 is behind us (what a shocker). Looking forward to watching the crusaders come back with some big new names in the fold I think the player to watch in that team is Fruean he is a freak. Let the games begin

By Gron - Castle Braai recommendations: 0
PIK, in a game between the Bulls and Cheetahs it is usually impossible to predict. I wouldn't bet on this game... ever.
