O'Gara left out of Ireland XV

Tuesday, November 24 The Ireland team to play South Africa has been named and shows six changes to the starting fifteen from the team that played against Fiji - however there is no space for regular flyhalf Ronan O'Gara.

O'Gara has to be content with a place on the bench following Jonathan Sexton's heroics against Fiji last week with the young Leinster flyhalf retained ahead of the Munster veteran.

There are three changes in the backline with Tommy Bowe returning to the team on the right wing in place of Shane Horgan. Paddy Wallace moves from the bench to start at inside centre with Gordon D'Arcy named in the replacements. Tomas O'Leary is selected in the starting team at scrumhalf.

The forwards have also seen three changes with Cian Healy starting at loosehead after recovering from his shoulder injury and Tony Buckley is retained in the replacements.

Donncha O'Callaghan also returns to the side in the secondrow with Leo Cullen moving to the replacements. David Wallace, who was not involved in the match 22 against Fiji, is selected at openside.

Can't stand O'gara, he's not a sportsman (like I've mentioned before,) glad they left him out - not too good for SA, I think O'gara is pretty one dimensional and therefore easy to defend against. It's going to be a good game

I think this is a mistake on Ireland's part - O'Gara will be desperate to make amends for losing the Lions series.

By astrilla13 - Castle Braai recommendations: 0
Lol.....O'Gara didn't lose the Lions series, the Lions lost the Lions series.

By sasuperman20 - Castle Braai recommendations: 0
Disagree, O'gara lost it: first he got run over my J Fouri and then he took our player out in the air (2nd test) so Morne could slot the 50 M kick to win the series...so yeah - O'gara single handedly lost the Lions series

on facebook. Way to many NH fans there. They saying NZ, Boks and Aus gonna lose this weekend. Trying to say the NH gonna dominate rugby Shocked

Could happen. The paddies are good on their own pitch. France are well up for AB's and Australia were really poor against the Jocks. All 3 could go either way but my money is on SA-France-Wales.

right now I rate saxton higher than o'gara..

the kid is playing really well, and had a big part in last years heineken cup defeat of Munster (by his Leinster)

By Cheis - Castle Braai recommendations: 0
i mean 'last years win over munster'

Wink

By sasuperman20 - Castle Braai recommendations: 0
It most certainly could happen - we're running on empty, France are going to be well up for it against NZ (one of the few teams that aren't intimidated but the Kiwis) and Aus are failing to fire.

O'Gara is cake anyway, sill remember during the lion series when he was captain he didn't even bother shaking hands with either the ref or the SA player, what prick!!!!

By bokke95 - Castle Braai recommendations: 0
we gonna take thes okes this time round...cant stand ogara,im living in ireland and have seen him a few times, and the w@nker doesnt even greet you when you choon howzit ronan..the pr1ck!!!!

By sasuperman20 - Castle Braai recommendations: 0
Yeah Samoan, it really got to me when he didn't even acknowledge Potgieter in the Lions midweek game at the toss. The guy thinks he's a super star and I don't think he's ever been anything better than average.
USA, are you suggesting putting De Jong in the starting line up against and experienced Irish team who are at home - little too soon I think. More hungry? I'm pretty damn sure that each and every one of the boks want to win as much as the next guy

I smell a weakness! The fact that you had a good game against Fiji doesn't mean that you'd be up to facing the Boks in a high stakes interntional test...I hope Wynand starts so that he and the loosies can put a bit of pressure on this kid! Very Happy

I don't like O'Gara either, he's extremely predictable & has never really done anything much of note.

Saying NH teams will dominate rugby is like saying wp will win a currie cup..neva gonna happen Very Happy

By Nitronic - Castle Braai recommendations: 0
The Boks need still to be wary of Ireland, they will bring the same intensity if not more than the French.

By wpwynkop - Castle Braai recommendations: 0
Why don't NH teams do a sanzar tour..play aus nz boks on our homegrounds then one can start judging on domination. Da mos nu ni n manier d eters gan n game weni except if they play the sharks

By Luke... - Castle Braai recommendations: 0
Not a bad idea WPwynkop. I would be surprised if any of them won a single game...

By Gilbert - Castle Braai recommendations: 0
Luke, France would probably win one game, and Ireland would end up moaning about how physical the Rugby is in the SH...and how they should have won. Oh but they'll probably draw with Australia and then talk about how awesome their team is and how they're the best in the world...

BOKKE!!

Centre Jean de Villiers will join the Springbok squad in Dublin on Thursday. De Villiers has been called to the squad to replace Adi Jacobs, who has been ruled out of Saturday's Test against Ireland due to an ankle injury.
