Ralepelle's injury nightmare continues

Tuesday, November 24 Springbok hooker Chiliboy Ralepelle's injury streak continues to worsen with the news that the Blue Bulls hooker will have to sit out for three months after aggrevating a foot injury on tour with the Boks earlier this month.

Ralepelle - who missed the latter stages of the Currie Cup with a stress fracture - was rushed back to captain the Springboks against Leicester, but limped off early on when his injury flared up.

The young Springbok midweek captain will go in for surgery today and is expected to be out for a minimum of three months.

The news will come as a major blow to his Springbok and Bulls starting aspirations following Gary Botha's return to Loftus and Derick Kuun's continued good form.

The stress fracture in the foot is the latest in a long string of serious injuries that has hampered Ralepelle's career since he broke on to the domestic and international scene.

The Vodacom Bulls reassembled at Loftus Versfeld on Monday to start their preparation for 2010’s Super 14 tournament and apart from Ralepelle’s stress fracture there aren’t any other injury concerns in the camp.

perhaps he'll end up working for SuperSport or something...cause i don't see why any team would be willing to buy him cause he is too much of a risk in terms of injury. Poor guy...but i guess thats what happens when you're constantly forced into a team when you're not fit enough to play...

its ironic that he gets injured so often considering that he hardly ever plays and sits on the bench most of the time. realy sad but with botha and kuun at the bulls . . . and smitty and bismaark and strauss 4 the boks, things were looking bleak even if he wuz fully fit. if he wants to give it 1 more go, then he has to relocate to another province and start games for his team. gud luck mate

Get the guy fit, let him play for a full season, whether it's currie cup or Super 14.

Prove to the critics how good he is and develop as a player.

There is an old Afrikaans saying, vroeg ruip vroeg vrot.

or, Jy kan nie vir hom ruip drik nie.

For the english out there, Early ripe early rotten.

SA Rugby and politics is damaging his career to fill the needs of selfish coaches and rugby administrators.

I would'nt be too worried if I was him. He'll just walk straight into the Sprinbok squad anyway, as soon as he is on his feet.

This guy had so much promise, so I feel for him. As far as I know he hasn't played a full season a yet. And yeah, Kuun and Botha at the bulls and Smit, Bismark, Kuun, Strauss and even Liebenberg competing for springbok jerseys you have to wonder if this might have been the last straw...

Won't miss him at all, he has never even been the first choice hooker at the Bulls. How can he be a Bok captain. 3 Years ago Charl Langeveldt was picked for Proteas team as a quota player so he withdrew from the side because he did not want to play as a quota player. If Chilliboy and Maku had any honour they would have done the same, they know in their hearts they are not the 2nd and 3rd best hookers in the country. Justice is served!!

I think Rose has upped his game and could be one of the revelations of the tour Smile besides Deysel
