Leamy injury fears eased

Monday, November 23 Ireland coach Declan Kidney will be relieved that the injury to Denis Leamy is not as serious as first thought and that the loose-forward could still recover in time to face the Springboks this weekend.

Leamy was injured early in the second half of Ireland's 41-6 thrashing of Fiji over the weekend.

The medical update on Denis Leamy is that following both X-rays and scans of his right ankle that he injured during the Fiji game, the injury is less serious than was first thought. He will undergo rehabilitation this week, but is not ruled out of selection at this point.

Ireland have added nine players to the squad which did duty against Fiji: Tommy Bowe, Darren Cave, Gavin Duffy, Cian Healy, Kevin McLaughlin, Ronan O'Gara, Devin Toner, Dan Touhy and David Wallace.

Ronan O'Gara is expected to slot back in at flyhalf despite Jonathan Sexton's good display against Fiji.  Tommy Bowe, Cian Healy and David Wallace are also expeceted to slot straight back into the starting XV.

Enjoy watching Bowe play - he's a strong runner and is solid on defense, this weekend is going to be fun (damn and it's only Monday)
