Changes for desperate All Blacks

Wednesday, September 16 Tom Donnelly has been drafted in to the All Black starting line-up for his debut as Graham Henry looks for a quick fix to his faultering line-out.

Donnelly's inclusion is one of five changes to the side which lost to the Springboks in Hamilton last weekend. He replaces Isaac Ross who started all eight Tests the All Blacks have played this year. The men from New Zealand boasting only a 50% win ratio this season having lost four of those games.

Adam Thompson comes in on the blindside flank to replace Jerome Kaino with Neemia Tialata comes in at tighthead prop in place of Owen Franks. Cory Jane comes in at fullback in place of the injured Sitiveni Sivivatu while Isaia Toeava will start in the midfield outside Ma'a Nonu.

I do!! Go All Blacks!!

By Rqd2 - Castle Braai recommendations: 0
This All Black side definately doesn't evoke the fear that those of old did... Just like the Aussie's the big names, like Larkham, Latham, Roff and co, that have exited make all the difference... Hayman, Mauger, Kelleher or Marshall, Jerry Collins, Chris Jack and Ali Williams and going back even further to players like Spencer, Cullen, Wilson, Bunce, Little...

By kiwijimmy89 - Castle Braai recommendations: 0
haymen, chris jack and ali williams will all be back for wc and maybe kellehar and evans Very Happy

a few players missing frm tht list like jonah, jeff wilson, tana, merhtens, fitzpatrick god those were the days

By coachholten - Castle Braai recommendations: 0
Looking forward to this actually, both teams have a lot to play for and are gonna want to prove a point. Gonna be a very loose game me thinks more like a S14 fixture than a test match.

By Rqd2 - Castle Braai recommendations: 0
If Evans does return, where will whoever is coaching the All Blacks play him i wonder?

By Rqd2 - Castle Braai recommendations: 0
Oh, i remember loving to hate Sean Fitzpatrick... He was the absolute master of gamesmanship...

By kiwijimmy89 - Castle Braai recommendations: 0
evans would replace donald in the squad on bench which would increase depth but hayman is the real bargain he is exactly what our tight 5 needs a hard man

By Steynop15 - Castle Braai recommendations: 0
You need Jack and Williams just as much, Jimmy. And a decent scrummie.

They are still and incredible team, but i reckon its more their vunerability that has now become their slight downfall(im not saying they are down and out at all, and I'm sure they will be back to winning ways soon)but basically its more other teams beliefs that they can actually beat them that plays a vital role as well, the fact that France went there and won a game in the begining of the season was huge for all other teams in my opinion, and what we have done now, will also booster other teams incl Aus.

Guess it's one those "cant quite put my finger on it" times for the AB's, where they are gonna have to figure quite a few things out, cos even when the other players come back there is a lot of hard work to do before that invincibility comes back, even with Carter and McCaw, they dont seem as dangerous....
It has been a long time since they have had a 50% winning margin regardless of injuries or anything, + 2 games lost at home. It's not that the players are not good, but it does become a spiral, as you can see the changes now happening, NZ never used to switch and s(edited) like this, and the rest of us are pretty consistent in our selections, they almost make other teams more confident as the less confident they are.

By riek1988 - Castle Braai recommendations: 0
yeah its gonna be a good game but they lack the intimidation that they once had,not saying that they havn`t got intimidation, what the haka for then. But they are lacking confidence bigtime.I think you play toeava, carter, muliana, sivivatu, rockoko and conrad smith in the back line you got problems but the forwards not so much, they lack really good forwards, but mccaw is awesome

I am really looking forward to this, very much so, anyone who appreciates the game of rugby would! (ThyBulle) One thing i can say is that i have alot of respect for the All Blacks, hell after the Boks i will shout for them all day long because they are the one team on this planet who play so so so similar to us. I really don't like the Aussies, they are an arrogant bunch of ******* and i love nothing more than seeing them lose, whatever sport they participate in! Come on All Blacks, give 'em hell!

I am kinda looking forward to this match. I think they are both going to throw everything at it. Come on The All Blacks.

The Blacks havent got a bad side, but once they get a few of their key forwards back they will improve.

For me, one of their biggest problems is at scrummie. Cowan and Leonard arent up to scratch.

By KNECHCLK - Castle Braai recommendations: 0
It's not going to be a loose game judging by the weather forecast in Wellington. The Wallabies have a good record there, but both teams have an awful lot of pride to salvage and play for.

If the Wallabies win comprehensively the AB's will drop down to 3rd on the IRB World Rankings.

By fatalrash - Castle Braai recommendations: 0
It would be worth seeing the Wallabies beat the All Blacks just to see the look on Graham Henry's face! Especially since they would be the wooden spooners!

By praat-ek-luister - Castle Braai recommendations: 0
What the All-blacks need to do is fire Hansen and Smith. there is just no structural play whats so ever, all we see is players playing indivisualy. Actualy the all-black would have not bee competitive had McCaw and Carter been out.

By hakwa - Castle Braai recommendations: 0
Praat-ek-luister (mate don't you have a shorter blog name?), just fire Smith - he is quite useless! He was useless as an ABs coach 2000 to 2001.

Come now Thybulle, you sourpuss, of course you will be watching the test match

By BullsRob - Castle Braai recommendations: 0
Praat-ek-luister
The reason there appears to be no structure in NZ rugby's style of play is that's the way they like to play. Men out of position all over the place and fast! Lots of running.... It can be fun for the viewer, and often is, but frustrating for the fan when it doesn't work well.

It's a very typically Auckland style of play I recon. They should adopt a more cunning and well thought out game plan like Cantab use. Get rid of Smith and bring in (dare I say it) Todd Blackadder. He's doing very well with a new side. He was head coach at Glasgow for a while and assistant coach for Scotland. He's very good. Him and Gatland should be running the show, not Henry and the clowns....

By kiwijimmy89 - Castle Braai recommendations: 0
junior tht wasint an ab team thts the crusader team nxt year Very Happy

By bootman - Castle Braai recommendations: 0
I will definately be watching this game, even if just for the sake of watching a game of rugby. The AB's being my second favourite team after the Boks I would really love to see them win this one. I will also take great pleasure in watching Dingo stutter his way through the post match interview. GO BLACKS!!!!

By sasuperman20 - Castle Braai recommendations: 0
I know the Boks don't have the best kicker at 12 but I think this is proving a bit of a week link for the Kiwis, Donald was trying to fill that roll but can't Nonu isn't in that mold...just a little interest this side looking towards a weekend where territory is going to be more vital prehaps than posession

By tr00pa26 - Castle Braai recommendations: 0
Rokocoko has been way way out of form in the 14
I hope he gets some tries at 11
coz thats where he began

By jeffers - Castle Braai recommendations: 0
Thank God it not team of has beens or soon to have beens playing.

Who cares about the Springboks over inflated sense of self importance. They are on their way out in any event and will be an irrelevancy come RWC. PDV will be shown for the whinging fool of a coach he really is.

The Bokks, a good team presently but got a running start in the tri nations this year having played 3 in a row at home. That's OK the Bokks always need a hand up . Watch out for the carping and complaints about travelling etc. next year from the Bokks.

Go black and go gold. At least the game will be played in the right spirit and without arrogance and buffoonery of the Springboks and their mnanagement!
