Habana, Brits to miss Games?
The Aviva Premiership and Top 14 may prevent Schalk Brits and Bryan Habana representing Blitzbokke in the Commonwealth Games.
Despite both players' respective clubs, Saracens and Toulon, granting the pair permission to appear at the Games in the abbreviated version of the sport, both European bodies demand a strict four-week rest period for players must be observed during the off-season.
The Glasgow Games encroach upon this period for Brits and Habana, and it is highly unlikely either domestic group will budge, with a ruling against the stars' involvement expected in the near future.
The duo were named by SA Sevens boss Neil Powell as part of an incredible stellar lineup for the international tournament, with the likes of Cornal Hendricks, Warren Whiteley and Cheslin Kolbe also featuring.
It is understood both have expressed their desire to represent Team South Africa at the 2016 Olympics.
