Lions fly-half Elton Jantjies is heading out to Japan after the Super Rugby tournament and won't be playing in the Currie Cup.

According to a report on the Beeld website, Jantjies has signed a a deal with the NTT Shining Arcs.

Like several other South Africans, who are plying their trades in Japan, the 23-year-old  will return to South Africa for next year's Super Rugby season with the Lions.

Jantjies, who has played in two Tests for the Springboks, has previously been linked with moves to the Kings and Cheetahs after falling out of favour at the Lions where Marnitz Boshoff is the first-choice number 10.
