Two spots open for NZ
New Zealand head coach Steve Hansen has admitted that hooker and centre are set to be his biggest areas of selection concern during early 2014.
The All Blacks are without the retired Andrew Hore while Conrad Smith remains on sabbatical as Super Rugby nears, with places up for grabs.
And Hansen, speaking to the Devlin Radio Show, revealed that he will be keeping a close eye on the up-and-coming quality in the competition.
"With Andrew retiring, Keve's older but still playing very very well. We'll need a third hooker...Super Rugby this year I think will throw up that person," he said.
Hansen added that Charles Piutau is set to play some rugby at centre for the Blues, meaning his hat has been thrown into the number 13 ring.
Hooker's set to be on the radar of Hansen could be Liam Coltman, Rhys Marshall, Quentin MacDonald and veteran Corey Flynn while Hika Elliot's prospects are dependant on his injury.
