The Eastern Province Kings have acquired the services of Free State Cheetahs defence coach Michael Horak, according to a report on the Volksblad website.

Horak, who is also the coach of the University of Free State's Varsity Cup side, will first finish all his duties in Bloemfontein before heading to Port Elizabeth later this year after signing a five-year deal.

It's still unsure in what capacity the Kings will be using the 36-year-old. Their head coach Matt Sexton recently resigned to return to his country of birth, New Zealand.

The Kings also recently announced the signing of former All Blacks fly-half Carlos Spencer as their back-line coach - also on a five year deal.

Horak, who played represented England at full-back during his playing days, has been the Cheetahs' defence coach since 2010.
