Irish province Munster are apparently eager to bring in retired New Zealand international hooker Andrew Hore on a loan deal, according to one report in the UK.

The 35-year-old, who called time on his career after the November Test series, said openly he would now switch his focus to the family farm.

But according to the Daily Mail, the Irish province have contacted Hore about possibly joining them as an additional player for the Heineken Cup and RaboDirect PRO12 action on a short-term deal.

Munster are coached by fellow New Zealander Rob Penney and have had several of Hore's countrymen in their side over the years, such as Doug Howlett, Rua Tipoki and Christian Cullen.
