Savea in doubt for France Test

New Zealand wing Julian Savea could be ruled out of Saturday's Test with France in Paris due to illness.

All Blacks boss Steve Hansen has revealed that the big speedster has been forced to rest after falling sick and this could result in him missing the second tour match.

"We've got Julian Savea crook in bed at the moment so whether he's going to be right or not will be a question mark," he told New Zealand's Radio Live radio station.

Hansen indicated the All Blacks selectors have already stencilled in a starting XV to face France but if Savea is sidelined they will have to make at least one enforced change.

Charles Piutau and Cory Jane could be considered to replace Savea. Piutau was one of the All Blacks' best performers in last weekend's 54-6 win over Japan in Tokyo.

"That might mean we look at the wing position,'' Hansen said in reference to Savea's illness.

"(The) team is pretty settled I think and we'll have to just look at some of the combinations to cover the starting guys so by and large I don't think there'll be a lot of changes from what we've seen throughout the year."
