Western Province utility forward Michael Rhodes was cited on Monday for a dangerous tackle in Saturday's Currie Cup Final against the Sharks in Cape Town.

He was penalised in the second half for placing his arm around Sharks hooker Bismarck du Plessis' neck in a maul and maintaining his grip for a few seconds, which is in breach of law 10.4 (e) relating to dangerous tackling.

Rhodes will appear before a SARU disciplinary committee on Tuesday at 3pm in Cape Town. Advocate Donny Jacobs has been appointed the judicial officer.
