Lions ring the changes

Golden Lions coach Johan Ackermann has made seven changes to his side for Saturday's clash with Griquas in Kimberley.

In the forwards, Jacques van Rooyen will start at loosehead prop ahead of CJ van der Linde, who drops to the bench. Robbie Coetzee is also promoted to the starting line-up at hooker in place of Willie Wepener will provide cover.

Golden Lions U21 lock Ruan Venter will also start, as Willie Britz returns to number eight after packing down in the second row in last weekend's 31-31 draw with Western Province. Flanker Jaco Kriel is also promoted to the run-on side.

Meanwhile, in the backline, Tian Meyer starts at scrum-half, with Ross Cronje recovering from injury and providing cover off the bench. There is no place in the matchday 22 for his brother Guy, who started in the number nine jersey last weekend.

Andries Coetzee also starts at right wing as Deon Helberg takes a break amongstthe replacements.
