Shields back for Canes

Blindside flanker Brad Shields will return to the Hurricanes starting XV for Saturday's clash against the Crusaders.

Shields replaces Faifili Levave in the six jersey, who drops to the bench, whilst uncapped players Blade Thomson and Ope Peleseuma are also named amongst the replacements.

Winger Alapati Leiua is bracketed after sustaining a hip injury in last weekend's thrilling 44-49 defeat against the Highlanders, with Matt Proctor in line to replace him should he fail to recover in time.

Proctor's spot amongst the replacements will be taken by Andre Taylor should he be forced to start.

Several stars including All Blacks hooker Dane Coles and Samoa fly-half Tusi Pisi remain unavailable due to injury.
