Kings lose key duo
The Kings will be without the services lock Steven Sykes and wing Siyanda Grey when they face the Stormers in Cape Town on Saturday.
The Port Elizabeth-based franchise's director of rugby, Alan Solomons confirmed that the duo would not be available for selection after sustaining injuries during the their 34-22 loss to the Cheetahs.
“Siyanda has a hamstring injury and will be out for three weeks, while Sykes has sustained a shoulder injury that will see him out for four weeks,” he told the Kings' official website.
Solomons added that the rest of the team had the usual niggling injuries following a match, but there were no concerns at this stage.
Grey came off the field in the 54th minute, and was replaced by Shane Gates. Sykes stayed on field for the duration of the game, despite hurting his shoulder in the 67th minute, as the entire replacements bench had already been called up and there was no-one left to replace him.
Solomons said Kevin Buys, who had a slight rib injury, and Schalk Ferreira, who had a stiff back before the game against the Cheetahs, were being assessed by the medical team and undergoing rehabilitation, but would be eligible for selection.
