Stormers and Springbok flank Schalk Burger remains hospitalised after contracting bacterial meningitis following an operation on his calf.

The 29-year-old, who will turn 30 on Saturday, has been in hospital for two weeks and his franchise has not given a return date of when he will play.

Burger has 68 caps for South Africa, breaking onto the scene as an all-action flanker back in 2003. He was the IRB Player of the Year in 2004.
