Highlanders coach Jamie Joseph has made three changes to his starting line-up for Friday's clash with the Reds at Forsyth Barr Stadium in Dunedin.

In the forwards, Highlanders captain Andrew Hore makes his return after suffering a rib injury against the Hurricanes in Round Five.

Tony Woodcock also returns to the starting XV after he was a late withdrawal against the Chiefs, which sees Liam Coltman and Ma'afu Fia both move to the bench.

In the backs, Kade Poki has been ruled out with a rib injury, so Buxton Popoalii moves into the starting XV.

On the bench, Coltman and Fia are joined by TJ Ioane and Fumiaki Tanaka - who both come back into the matchday 22.

The Highlanders remain the only winless team in the competition. However
in 18 seasons of Super Rugby, the Reds have never prevailed against the Kiwi franchise in New Zealand.

Highlanders: 15 Ben Smith, 14 Buxton Popoalii, 13 Jason Emery, 12 Ma'a Nonu, 11 Hosea Gear, 10 Colin Slade, 9 Aaron Smith, 8 Elliot Dixon, 7 John Hardie, 6 Jarrad Hoeata, 5 Josh Bekhuis, 4 Brad Thorn (c), 3 Chris King, 2  Andrew Hore, 1 Tony Woodcock.
