Chiefs winger Lelia Masaga has announced that he will join Japanese club Honda at the end of the Super Rugby season.

Masaga will link-up with Chiefs team-mate Richard Kahui at the club after eight years with the Chiefs, during which he has won a single cap for the All Blacks.

Renowned for his try-scoring celebrations, Masaga has crossed the whitewash 30 times for the Chiefs since making his debut as a 19-year old.

"The Chiefs have been an important part of my life for eight years, but this was just simply an opportunity that was too good to turn down," said Masaga.

"Lelia is a highly valued part of the Chiefs family, but at his stage of his career this is a fantastic chance for Lelia and his family and we wish them well," said Chiefs head coach Dave Rennie.
