Highlanders change three

Highlanders coach Jamie Joseph has made three changes to his side for their final pre-season friendly, against the Blues, ahead of Super Rugby.

This is the third pre-season game for both teams.

There are a number of changes from the team that played the Crusaders in Oamaru last Friday, with Nasi Manu, Josh Bekhuis and Hayden Parker joining the starting XV.

In the forwards, Jarrad Hoeata moves to lock and Bekhuis joins him in the engine room. Manu makes a return from injury and replaces Elliot Dixon at number eight.

In the backs the only change from the starting seven that beat the Crusaders is Parker at fly-half.

Highlanders: 15 Buxton Popoalii, 14 Kade Poki, 13 Phil Burleigh, 12 Ma'a Nonu, 11 Hosea Gear (c), 10 Hayden Parker, 9 Aaron Smith, 8 Nasi Manu, 7 John Hardie, 6 Joe Wheeler, 5 Josh Bekhuis, 4 Jarrad Hoeata, 3 Ma'afu Fia, 2 Breayden Mitchell, 1 Tony Woodcock.

Replacements: Jason Emery, Fumiaki Tanaka, Shaun Treeby, Trent Renata, Frae Wilson, Hugh Blake, Tim Boys, Liam Coltman, Tom Franklin, Paul Grant, Chris King, Jamie Mackintosh, Bronson Murray.
