Selection poser for Drotské

Cheetahs coach Naka Drotské admits that he is enjoying the loose forward selection poser he has ahead of Saturday's pre-season's clash with the Bulls in Polokwane.

The successful return to action of Springbok flanker Juan Smith and fellow back-rower Frans Viljoen means that Drotské now has eight of his nine loose forwards available for the clash with the Bulls.

Smith, Viljoen, Philip van der Walt and Lappies Labuschagné all featured in the 27-26 victory over the Stormers in Bloemfontein last weekend.

The other loose forwards in the Cheetahs squad are Davon Raubenheimer, Boom Prinsloo, Tertius Daniller and Marnus Schoeman while only Heinrich Brüssow remains sidelined with a shoulder injury.

Raubenheimer and Prinsloo started against the Stormers with Viljoen, Smith and Labuschagné on the replacements bench.

According to the Volksblad website, Drotské is set to again start with Smith on the bench against the Bulls. Smith played for half an hour against the Stormers after a break of two years due to an Achilles injury.

With so many quality loose forwards at his disposal, Drotské must now pick his best starting combination and a replacement for Saturday's match - something which he views as a bit of a selection "problem".

"We now have to pick four loose forwards out of everyone available," he said.

"I didn't bargain on Frans and Juan being ready (at this stage) and it's definitely a nice problem to have."
