Rebels and Wallabies wing Cooper Vuna has extended his stay at the Melbourne-based franchise for at least another two seasons.

Vuna's manager Peter Jess said the 25-year-old, who made his Wallabies debut against Wales in Brisbane earlier this year, was delighted to stay on at the fledgling franchise.

"He is pleased," Jess told WA Today

"It is a platform for him to get back into the Wallabies squad.

"It is an exciting time for him. It is the fittest he has been. He has performed very well on the track and the club is very pleased with him."

After his Test debut, Vuna also represented Australia against Wales in Melbourne but he was not part of the Wallabies' recent tour to Europe due to surgery on an injured shoulder.

The rugby league convert, is expected to be fit for the start of the Super Rugby season.

The Rebels will start their campaign with two warm-up matches - against the Waratahs in Hobart on February 2 and against the Hurricanes in Geelong on February 9 - before hosting the Western Force in Super Rugby's opening match on February 15.
