Former Sale loose forward and Scotland Sevens player David Tait has died at the age of 25.

Tait, whose Premiership career at the Sharks was cut short by injuries, is understood to have fallen from an apartment block in Hong Kong.

The former Sedbergh School player moved to the Far East after Sale and soon became a corporate finance manager for multinational firm KPMG.

"The rugby community will be shattered by the passing of such a gifted and popular young man who was respected by everyone he played alongside," Rugby Players' Association chief executive Damian Hopley told the Manchester Evening News.

"He wasn't simply a talented rugby player, he was also extremely bright and successful in his life outside of rugby.

"We will do everything we can to help support David's family and the players who played alongside him. His family and friends are in our thoughts and prayers."

Par for course I'm afraid. If he's not threatening to kill me he's ripping on the recently deceased.

Anyways, although I'm not familiar with David his untimely death is still very sad non the less. His poor family must be absolutely heart broken. RIP bro and my sincere condolences to his family.

Very sad news and I like Bliksem I do no trule out the possibility of foul paly. How is it that a bright young guy falls from a balcony? Could he have be drunk, have a heart attack, pushed or it was itpurely an accident?

Wonder if anything more will come out.'

Anyhow its very sad that a young life has been snuffed out.
