If the rumour mill is true, then Springbok pivot Morne Steyn could be leaving South Africa to ply his trade in France with Top 14 outfit Stade Francais.

The Bulls star has been linked with a move overseas by French website Le Rugby Nistere, who reported that Steyn had sat down with Stade Francais management prior to last Saturday's Test at Twickenham.

Steyn was not included in the Springboks' matchday 22 for that match, won 16-15 by the visitors.

Against Scotland and Ireland, Steyn - who has been struggling with his form - was warming pine for South Africa and seems to have fallen behind both Pat Lambie and Elton Jantjies in the Bok pecking order.

And with Johan Goosen also set to return from injury, it doesn't look good for Steyn who has been South Africa's first-choice fly-half ever since coming on as a replacement to kick the winning penalty against the British and Irish Lions in 2009.

The move has been denied by the Bulls franchise.
