Beale to appear in court
Nov 16,2012
Wallaby playmaker Kurtley Beale will appear in court next year over an assault charge following an incident in June involving a bouncer at a Brisbane hotel.
A Queensland Justice Department spokesman on Friday confirmed the Wallabies player's case would be heard on February 6. Beale faced court in July for the incident on the morning before an Australia-Wales Test match when he and team-mate Quade Cooper were refused entry at the hotel in the early hours of June 8.
The Australian Rugby Union put on hold any disciplinary action against Beale until the police matter was resolved, meaning he remained available for Super Rugby and the Wallabies.
Beale will start at fly-half for Australia against England at Twickenham on Saturday.
