Scots impress Meyer
Nov 13,2012
“I really believe Scotland is a quality side. They are dangerous once they keep the ball in hand.
“The result (against New Zealand) did not show how good the Scots were. There was probably ten minutes of brilliance from the All Blacks in that game and they put together 20 points. Scotland was always in the game,” Meyer said.
“What stood out for me was that Scotland scored three tries and if you looked at the season, the likes of Australia and ourselves struggled to score tries against New Zealand.
“Even a team like Ireland could not score a point in their second test, and the Scots scored three tries and were probably unlucky not to score one or two more. So I think this Scottish team is a great one. They did very well against the All Blacks, who are the best team and if you take that ten minutes out, it was a very good Scottish performance.”
Meyer said his side will be aware of the threat posed by the hosts.
“We should stay focussed, keep our feet on the ground and get ready for what will be a great challenge on Saturday.”
