Cape Town will play host to Saracens yet in January.

The English club’s second-stringers, the Storm, will play the Maties’ Varsity Cup team in a friendly in Stellenbosch as part of a training camp necessitated by the cancellation of the match between Saracans and Biarritz.

The impromptu training camp was arranged following the dispute between the Western Province Rugby Union and the Cape Town City Council over the venue for the Heineken Cup clash that ultimately denied supporters an opportunity to see several South African players who ply their trade at Saracens live.

"It's not an official match. Saracens have bought their flight tickets and will therefore come and practice in the Cape," Maties coach Chean Roux told Die Burger.

"Fifteen other players will also come along, who will play as the Storm against us. We will provide the replacements."
