You heard it here first folks
July 03, 2014, 12:05:22

"Just as I thought Sun - you are a yellow belly - man up man.......you wont answer as you are lying to yourself. The current Bok side is [removed].......Oz and NZ are going to prove that.......they will lose all 4 tests" - A girl

A girl has boldly predicted that South will lose ALL FOUR tests against against Australia and New Zealand; repeating the wonderful of last years Australian side! I'm sure we will all be happy to keep tabs on this wonderful insight from Saffstradamus, a long time Bok, um, supporter.

I am looking forward to two things -

*   that Meyer realizes he cannot win with the team playing against the Welsh in th CR tests and make some urgently-needed changes; and
*   that we win the tests against the Wallabies and All Blacks if the required changes are indeed made.

If not - we are dead in the wood losers.

Clevermike. I asked A girl on another thread and I'll ask you as well. Do you believe SA has the players to win the Rugby Championship and if so, what would this team look like?

Nah Nah Nah guys

Mark my words, he will then turn around and say, I only said they would lose if Meyer picked "These players", or "These players", or "These players"

I would never in my wildest dreams say they would lose with "Those players"

It's hilarious I tell ya

Ah so Sun goes for the Communist theory I see. That the Master in charge has to be supported come what may and anyone detracting from that ideal is not a true "supporter "

Well, there is another way, Sun.

Maybe, just maybe, it is possible to see that the man "in charge " isn't always right and isn't always doing the best. And, in a sporting context, that losing some matches to force change, isn't the worst thing that could happen and, here's the shocker, it doesn't mean you aren't a "supporter". To the contrary, it actually means you might just be a bigger one than the rest of the sheep that are happy to sit idly by and let things fester because the Powers That Be always know best.

I know it's a hard lesson to learn, but one doesn't always have to blindly follow. Sometimes one can choose to lead.
And it doesn't make them a traitor to the cause :)

Yebo Safe[removed], my good ole buddy... ole pal.

You have a well known habit of switching stories to suit your argument

This won't be the last time we all see it, I promise you

Must be the law background you have, wording things carefully so you can try and show where it is being "misconstrued", when you start to look like the idiot we all know you are :)

Actually, given that you have a background in law, I would have expected far more common sense and intellect from you

We can't always win in this massive conglomerate gene pool that the world displays on a daily basis, therefore you have my sympathy.

Mance, damn right I believe we have the players to win the RC.....my side would be:

15. Willie 14. JP 13. de Allende/JJ 12. Serfontein 11. JJ/de Allende 10. Goosen 9. Hougaard 1. Beast 2. Bismark 3. Coenie 4. Etzebeth 5. Lood de Jager 6. Brussouw 7. Jacques du Plessis 8. Vermeulen

16. Strauss 17. Kitshoff/Nkanyane 18. Marcel v/d Merwe/Malherbe 19. Willemse 20. Coetzee/Kolisi 21. Faf de Klerk/Reinach 22. Lambie/Pollard 23. Frans Steyn.

I want JJ and de Allende in the side as starters, so would have to decide who would play wing and who would play centre. Given JJ is far quicker, I'd be tempted to play him on the wing with de Allende at 13.

On the bench, I have thrown in options, but the first names would be the ones I'd go with.

Now that is a real Bok side

 nance

One has to take into account that Fourie du Preez is not going to be available and that JP Pietersen and Jacque Fourie will both be out of contention.

I think a potential winning team is the following:-

15  Willie le Roux,  14  Lwazi Mvovo,  13  Damian de Allende,  12  Jean de Villiers,  11  Bryan Habana,  10  Handre Pollard,  9  Cobus Reinach,  8  Duane Vermeulen,  7  Schalk Burger,  6  Francois Louw,  5  Eben Etzebeth,  4  Lood de Jager,  3  Frans Malherbe,  2 Bismarck du Plessis,  1  Tendai Mtawarire,

16  Adiaan Strauus,  17  Schalk van der Merwe,  18  Jannie du Plessis/Coenie Oosthuizen,  19  Victor Mtfield/Steven Lewies,  20  Marcel Coetzee,  21  Sarel Pretorius,  22  Johan Goosen/Patrick Lambie, 23  Jan Serfontein.

There are some problem areas in the present environment:-

*   We need a 13 and the fact that Pietersen was used in the intreim did not alleviate that problem.   Jacques Fourie is not the answer - even should he be available (slow as a carthorse and useless in attack).  I think even at this stage Meyer is hoping for   De Allende to fill successfully that vacancy..

*   The Morne Steyn story has been covered many times on this site and the fact is he is not an enterprising flyhalf - rather a robotic and predictable one.   There are too many gaps in his make up to make for a successful pivot - and urgent change is necessary.

*   The fact is that Pienaar is way past it and is not a suitable scrummie anymore.   His service is very slow and his kicking game ineffective.   Taking him out of the picture - we are really left with Reinach, Hougaard, Schreuder, Groom,  Pretorius and Faf de Klerk.   Mention is often also made of [removed]ott,  but he did not impress anyone in the World Team game and is likely to refer to play for France in any event.   Hougaard was disappointing in the Scots test - Schreuder is a show pony - Groom is a nice youngster - but not good enough and De Klerk is too inexperienced and would in time to come be an excellent impact player.  Pretorius is really an impact player with lots of tricks up his sleeve.

*   Alberts is gtting on in years and it showed in his recent matches.  At times his defense was shockingly poor and his ball carries was invariably ineffective and he is extremely limited in ball handling, as well as tackle ball protection and recovery.  Schalk Burger actually tick all the boxes - but I am a bit vary about his injury history.  I think by next year June Labuschagne will be the top choice - but for the CR I stick with Burger.

*   We have a number of physically-strong younger locks that can produce the goods in the Tight 5.   My problem is that the last three tests Botha played in showed that he is not the player he was in his prime and his ball carries in traffic was ineffective and in fact rather poor.   This once very strong player is just he shadow of what he was in the past.   Matfield is in the same position - never a top tight player - he is even weaker than he was before.   If we want to beat the Aussies and AB's we need the really tough cookies to take charge in Tight 5 and neither Botha nor Matfield meets that requirement.

*    The prop situation is not a pretty one.   The best of the Lot is the Beast.  Jannie du Plessis has been up and down and could be a problem.  I wold in fact prefer Malherbe to start and Du Plessis to come off from the bench - that may be the wiser proposition.   However, I am not happy with the present ensemble of Loose heads.   The one that showed the present loose heads up badly was Ban der Merwe of the Lions and I would think he really is the best candidate from the bench.  A very strong scrummager and hard worker in tight play.

I like thinking play making players in the backline and the one I proposes have plenty of that.

Consider my response a favour.....let's also add.... a one off favour.

You are wrong in thinking that I have ill feelings towards you, the fact is I have none.

You see carrying an ill feeling is something....why, what would be the point? If what I feel is even less than nothing, it's called indifference.

There, my last word, I really can't get motivated to respond to a nobody.

DA......

I pulled posters up on their language on the old Site and was told to mind my own business. I told them I had not encountered such language before on message boards and, such profanities and personal abuse would not be countenanced on sites here in England. It is not. Posters get banned for things that you would consider playful banter.

I have learned to shut my mouth and only ask for retraction when someone insults me personally in such a profane way.
You might notice no-one actually defends me ? Do they ? No. But I still actually ask that I am not sworn at or called a prostitute or the ugliest woman that ever walked the Earth. You know, all things that have no bearing on any of my opinions whatsoever.

And actually, A girl would, if he could be bothered, back me up when I tell you I do not use language like that myself. Because I don't.

You lot are worse than a bunch if navvies. But you seem to enjoy it ? Don't you ?

I also remember when A girl didn't used to swear so much. But then I recall that he has had abuse heaped on him from all corners for the past god knows how long, like a bunch of juveniles in a playground, so that is how he had reacted to your comments, it seems.

I tell you what, here goes, and let the floodgates open and the abuse pour down on me....

You all use far too much bad language and need your mouths washed out with soap and water, so give it a rest, will you ?

There. That better ?
Or should I have publically denounced A girl as Satan or something ?

And by the way, I was actually being truthful. It does make me laugh when I read that. But hey ho.

So ou Mmaaik finally posts a team to win the RWC. Let's examine his picks. Firstly he picks Mvovo ahead of JP and Hendricks, who has done everything right so far. Why one might ask?

Next we have 3 out of 4 newbies in Reinach, Pollard and De Allende. The RC opponents will eat up that inexperience. Having Pollard is a huge ask for the youngster at this stage...but don't give him a player at scrummie who is a poor kicker...for heaven sake.

Next we have Malherbe at tighthead...a player who has been hurt most weeks and hasn't had one convincing scrumming game this year....all because the Oom knows his dad. And we have two number four locks playing together.

Nope, after all the bluster, the Oom finally commits and lays an egg.

A navvy was a navigator; the men who built the c[removed]s/railways/roads during the Industrial Revolution. It is the colloquial term for them and one they coined themselves.

They were also well known for their foul mouths :)

Bull. I lived in England for 21 years, they are much more raw than South Africans! Particularly in terms of profanity. I've been a part of many forums, literally hundreds and England is no haven or utopia. Far from it. But I'm used to your dangerously close to racist White Wolf-esque stance. Your anti-South African views will not serve you well on a South African forum. Best not preach of English etiquette *chuckles to self* when slander foreigners on their turf. There's a good lass.

I would also like to draw attention to brother Michael. Was it not you who predicted that South Africa would finish last in last years RC? I think it was. Not only this, but after the Boks were successful until their last game of the year, you even proclaimed that the Boks were not really successful in spite of achieving success. If you are a Bok fan, you have a rather interesting interpretation of it.

And I have lived in England for almost 41 years and been a Member of my now Premiership Club for 25 years, having been a Rugby supporter since birth, so don't come it with me pal ! :)

And you, with your posturing and self aggrandising would have gone done like the proverbial, my friend.

As for my anti South African views, is that the bit where I said you were a little sheep ? That one ?

Good lord, we are a touchy little soul, aren't we ? Always try and go for the anti South African bent if we don't get our own way. Please do. We have heard it all before...and some.

Brother Michael delights in playing the gadfly. And he throws around lot of erroneous facts, while never having the basic decency to acknowledge his mistakes. But in his own aw shucks way, he is a serious gutter mouth....with lurid stuff about a players mother. And he has been throwing disgusting stuff at Vlag for some time...mostly met with patience.

Beeno I'm all for a clean act on this site...but why give this painful moron a pass. Be even handed please.

Geez Deviltwat you really are [removed]ing stupid - its not about the content of your poll you dip[removed], its about the fact that no-one gives a toss about what you have to say other than to call you a [removed] and tell you to piss off

Looks like we hav some oaks having a go here!!

Hands off Lady Becs, a woman of unusual character, charm and intelligence! Calling her anti South African is not so as she has warm feelings towards this country.

Moz I think ou windpomps attack on Mike the most scurrilous I have seen in years. Talk about throwing ones toys out the kott.

I appeal to all warring parties to practise restraint and avoid foul language. You have an esteemed model to follow so there is no excuse!

Nice side you picked Mike but to me its lets wait and see who is left standing.
And , of course no place for wee matfiled.

Some oaks are making the kbbs look like veritable saints!!!! What a contentious bunch!
Part of the probem is that DA is a kamp SS mole and ou windpomp considers himself a professional stirrer. You can work out the rest

Spell it out for you in big letters shall I Ceradyne, because you are incapable of comprehension ?

IT IS NOT AN ENGLISH CLUB FORUM. Ok ?

I will apologise, did you see that word ? It is one you might not know and may have to look up the meaning of, because I am sure you have actually never once used it in your life ( along with a good few others here ) for not stressing that point after my initial post where I mentioned Club Forum's.

I was talking about Club Forum in my post, not UK based websites where anyone can post anything. I was talking about the Forum that I have personally been a Member of in the past and that have invigilators who ban folk for the use of bad language and abusing other posters/players/Club officials.

One incident with a poster at one Club resulted in the banned former Member spamming the site and the Members with [removed].

And all this because someone criticises the precious one, Mr Morne Steyn ?
Boo hoo.

Grow up, Ceradyne.

A girl I agree with your WC winning side except I think Lambie has lost ground with the likes of players like Pollard and Boshoff stepping up this season.

Jannie I agree like Victor is a spent force.

Don't write off the young Sharks new Bok lock.......great at lineouts and ever present at breakdowns.

Bissy to captain the side.

Oh dear. You have definitely lost it. I do not give a crap about your club site forum, whatever. I reacted to you talking about a club forum in relation to the languish used
on this site. This was after you made yet another about turn. These were your initial words to which I responded: "I told them I had not encountered such language before on message boards and, such profanities and personal abuse would not be countenanced on sites here in England."

After I compared it to Planet Rugby you firstly decided that you were actually referred to a Club Forum and then you decided that Planet Rugby is not an England site and now you have even decided to shout it out. Shouting it out would not make the Planet Rugby site a non-England site. It is and no matter how many tantrums you throw, it will still be an England site.

In any case, the example that you have use is obviously a much smaller "closed" forum that is policed more efficiently.

You could of course, for interest sake and just to confuse you even more, investigate the links between this site and Planet Rugby.

 Mozart

You really are one that looks for trouble more than anyone else on this site with your constant efforts to demean others.   Your superiority complex is amazing - to say the least.

I do not normally use nasty phrases unless provoked and my use of an age-old American one-line joke that was used by many US comedians during countless shows is used to call me a s[removed]bag - what a disgrace you are to try to lecture to others when you are as guilty as everyone else of acting improperly.

Your peniultimate comment - about Goosen and JJ refers.  Lets take the Ellis Park test and put the bugger ups (missed tackles and thoughtless play) of Morne in the Ellis Park test and add to that the Eden Park test (missing to find touch with penalty kicks) and the Dunedin test (just buggered up everything) as examples.   He can be first on the list  and then add Alberts and JJ to the list.

In terms of the forum planet rugby, their is less swearing on that site- probably because it gets moderated.

However SuperRugby.co.za also has little to no swearing on it- because it too gets more moderated than this website.

However this site is treating people like adults and asking them to moderate their own behaviour.
It has nothing to do with nationality, merely personal behaviour.

For Becs to bring nationality into this is just a joke really.
Anyone who has lived in both South Africa and England- can be 100% sure that many of the British swear more than many of the South Africans.

Their are obviously people in England and SA that never swear,
but if one was to generalize- then English people do swear more.
Especially people from the North of England.

Some of them routinely build swearing into their tone and how the converse.
It is F this, F that. Some English may actually say the F word once, for every 5-10 words spoken. That is more the rough element covered in cheap tattoos.
Perhaps many of the northerners are so hard to understand is because their speech is littered with swearing under their breath between swearing loud and stringing words in between.

Also, women especially in South Africa do not even nearly swear as much as women in England.

Interestingly the person that probably swears at people the most on this site is A girl who has lived in the UK for ages and now keeps company with Becs.
