Entertainment Time is getting near - and it will be fun
January 21, 2014, 09:40:32

It is just over 3 weeks to go before Super 15 starts and we have the pre-season matches starting on Saturday.   Also the Las Vegas Sevens should help to generate the discussions.

Actual Rugby will be the center of attention - but what is also of interest is the antics of members of the site.   Just think of the following masterpieces by site members:-

Invention of Top performances

Masters of the art in this case: -

Saffex, Mozart, Sun Tzu, Cleancut

Their favourite players go through games doing near to zero and they wax lyrical about how good they were, how they broke tackles and set up attacks, etc., when there is no real evidence to prove their dreams of perfection..

The swooning New Zealand Supporters

Masters of the art in this case: -

Sasue, hakwa, Just Win, Brycy, nukefreekiwi (I nearly added Cloudy - but she is such a lovely lady).

They constantly live in the past and their future comprise of all of Richie McCaw and Dan Carter.  On the whole a nice lot whose dreamy bubbles can be pricked quite easily.  Excellent fishing waters - they swallow bait hook, line and sinker.

The Excuse Finders

Masters of the art in this case: -

Saffex, Mozart, Sun Tzu, Cleancut

If their favourite players foul up the excuses invented to cover for them is ingenious.   The best way is to ignore stats in such cases - less it may discredit their favourites.  (Stats is to be used selectively only when it can enhance the image of their favourites or discredit players they do not favour - otherwise it is taboo)

.

The Kiwi Munchers

Master of the art in this case: -

Beeno

The wee AB's (and any other New Zealand teams).   He turns disasters into miracles insofar as SA teams are concerned.   He really is a unique customer.

The thinking independent Contributors

Masters of the art in this case: -

Seb, oi-matey, Sharkbok, Chippo, Rooinek, boklogic

One can never make fun of their contributions because they always think carefully before they deal with FACTS

The Real Expert

Master of the art in this case: -

Ole Cruz

Pity this guy is around so rarely - it is an education in modern rugby to see what he writes when he is around.

The Troublemakers

Master of the art in this case: -

Most of the Other Members whose main objective is to belittle fellow members with very little or no rugby comments.

Summary

Where do I belong?  The Joker in the pack who drives other members crazy because he looks at rugby and what happens on the field of play - no inventions and when a storm ensues he always uses stats to prove his point.   The bane in the life of most members.:angel::angel:

Realism does have positive results - the real thinkers do well in performance evaluation - as is proven in their fairly successful participation in fantasy games. The excuse finders and inventors will never participate in that kind of competition since they have very little realistic ideas about what is required to comprise good performances and they are extremely prejudiced in favour of some players and their dislike of others.

Mike, do you have a category for clueless contributors?

Saffex

I thought about one - but then you are already in two categories and to put you in a third would be patently unfair.
