Luatua to replace Messam on the flank - Bledisloe cup
August 15, 2013, 06:03:21

Messam has strained a hamstring in training today and will be replaced by Steven Luatua. With Messam playing as well as he was and Richie very short of game time and nowhere near his best, how much will this affect the breakdowns?

I am sure Richie would have loved to see Messam on the park so he can play to the ball as well. Now pressure is on him to up his game and fast but we all know that Richie loves the pressure.

Thanks for the info - Steven is a great player. Caused some problems in my fantasy team selections = he goes straight into my teams as well.

Here's the article:

All Blacks: Luatua to replace injured Messam

By Wynne Gray in Sydney

3:11 PM Thursday Aug 15, 2013

Blues blindside flanker Steven Luatua will make his first test start this week as a late replacement for the injured Liam Messam.

In a dramatic conclusion to the All Black preparations before they flew to Sydney for the start of the Rugby Championship, Messam damaged his hamstring at the final practice run.
"Halfway through training Liam followed a kick through and he felt his hamstring tighten," coach Steve Hansen said.

"It looks like he has damaged it badly enough to be out for a few weeks. So Liam is going home and that is disappointing because he's been in great form. But this is a great opportunity for Steven Luatua. He's worked really hard for it and he gets his chance to display his game on Saturday." Luatua has only recovered from his own problems with a shoulder injury forcing him out for a month in the final stages of the Super 15 series. He recovered to play in last week's trial game but was later reported to have struggled with some sort of leg problem.

Luatua was picked for the June internationals against France and made his debut from the bench in the third test when he replaced Victor Vito.

So we will see if Hansen sticks with the relative new-comer (Luatua) or is he tempted to put Vito in there. Based on the Hansen's comments above he won't he changing his mind. It will be interesting to see Luatua have a good crack at it. Man did he come up the pecking order fast!

Clean Cunt...What is the purpose of your posts? What do you want a weight training program from me for? If I tell you my current program, you will post something stupid about that. If I dont post it, then I know nothing..Its really a lose lose situation for me. What is it with you 50+ morons. Are you and Rooinek not happy in life?

I train for something totally different to you. I still play the game...You talk about it. I train for strength and condition, you train to add years onto your life. Thats the difference.

Please explain how I "put my foot in it" and "made an ass of myself" over this?

I bet you 50% of the bloggers on this board are active gym goer's and all of us will have a different program so what are you getting at?? Do you really need the help?? Send me your goals and requirements and I will do something up for you buddy

Ok ...

You have much to say about 50 year olds and how weak and useless they are  ... so when one takes you on ... in an attempt to save a little face ... you claim to be able to run at pace over a distance and your weight training out does that of the useless old man.

Even though you have no idea what that useless oldman does when training. What kind of weight he's using for say bench press ... or just how intense his program may be.

No idea ... but to save face against this useless weak oldman, that you've been mouthng off about all the time ... you fabricate bullshit.

Problem is ... that same useless oldman wants to know your traing program. Even though he already knows you dont have one. He suspects your a lardass with a large flabby dimpled belly that's receiving gallons of beer and large quantities of take aways daily. That's when you dissappeared for the day only to come back the next day with some stupid ignorant ramblings of a 6 week program ... doing resistance training.

Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahahahahahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa .... t!!!!

That really cracked me up.

You see small cock ... you've been exposed as a liar before ... and your latest horse shit confirm that that's exactly what you are.

You don;'t have the balls to go to a meet ... so to save face you lie about being there ... you don't have the balls to deal with a woman yourself and so you take on others about their wifes and daugfhters ...and when tthey respond you throw a hissy fit.

I made an earlier comment to you about you being sodomized as a youngster and how this musta left you all scarred.  Tell me is that why you're such an arsehole? All those issues left to fester and what you see in the mirror is ... well ... a closet homosexual who'll never amount to much in life ... forever blaiming the older generation for his struggle.

SmallCock ... I don't think I've ever come across an arsehole quite at your level before.

Oh and by the way ... no thanks on the program assistance. Wearing a frilly pink leotard while doing a little resistance training doesn’t quite do it for me.

with vito not even making the squad, its logical to see luatua step up, but IMO vito and latimer in that order cant be too far behind at the moment from AB duties.

i love how even though weve got injuries, the next layers to step right up have been preforming insanely well, luatua and lappies were the best blindsides all year by a country mile, very consistent performances game in and game out and the hansen realising this has elevated him past vito who was at the least an All Black squad memeber incumbent.

big big test though for luatua, IMO the brumbies heavy wallabies first up in sydney with a new coach is the toughest match for the All Blacks in 2013, and messams loss cant be ignored, his form in the finals was outstanding in the feild of excellence.
luatua  really needs to stamp his mark with this game as opportunities like this dont happen often and im sure he will come through in flying colours.

GO THE MIGHTY MIGHTY ALL BLACKS!!!

Firstly Clean cunt, I never said I would beat you at the run. I said you would probably beat me coz I dont run long distance. Further more, I have nothing to prove to you in the gym. I train to be the best I can and do the best I can. You are the old cunt with the chip on your shoulder that thinks we think he is so strong because he tells us he is. Ha ha you are a joke old timer. Unlike you, I have made my avatar a pic of me playing rugby so your theory of fat and all the rest is blown out of the water.

Your statement: Even though you have no idea what that useless oldman does when training. What kind of weight he's using for say bench press ... or just how intense his program may be.

Very cute oupa. I think if you read back, you will find that it is u with this whole "training" infatuation not me. I dont give a shit what program you follow. I hope for your sake tho it involves plenty cardio to keep that heart pumping. Lets be real old man..You aint gaining any muscle at this age...Sorry to burst your bubble..

If i "disappear" its because im at work..You know, that place you go everyday when you young and fit. One day I will be just like you, on pension, infront of my computer all day asking the next gen for tips on training and telling them how strong I am in my 50's and expect them to take me seriously ;-)

Why is it so hard for you to believe that anyone can have a fitness program?? Is it impossible to get one?

Once again, I came back online, told that oke that stepped me out I was at the garage. Kept my till slip as proof and I never heard from him again. Nothing left to prove here guys.

What the fuck does the older generation have to do with any of my struggles?? Do you actually read what you write? Lets take Mozart for example. Older guy, will smash you tossers with wit and smarts anyday of the week. Then we have you and Rooi, 50+ years old and I dont think you could outwit a toddler. Or maybe your lives were so bad that you trying to live them again but this time be the total opposite of what you were..

So my summary of you Clean Cut..A fat, old, balding fuck that has not run 10km's in 50 years (nevermind per day) and never seen a gym..The only "program" you stick to is Jamie Olivers 15 minute meals and you wear your under pants over your pants and pretend you superman on this blog?

Soooooo, Luatua replaces Messam, haven't seen much of Luatua so hope he lives up to the hype. Messam seems a player who at moment that hasn't quite filled his potential, however it did take Jerome Kaino few seasons to develop into his no 6 role.

Wehe, so that really is you in your avatar, Smallcock? And that's what you call "playing rugby"?

Have to back Luatua to get stuck in. The man is like a machine, he has a huge work rate. Now getting a phone call to start in the Bledisloe test in Sydney. He would have to be pumped. Id expect him to do very well and prove how useful he really is, like any new AB hell use this as a opportunity that he is more than capable to be one of the men in black. Good luck Steve
