A question please. Is your son in the school team touring SA? If he is or even otherwise - I do not think we will get the match between his school and Outeniqua on TV here - we may , but DSTV is only opening another three channels (one giving extensive cover to school sport) next week.

There are a few players in the Outeniqua team I would like to know more about and maybe you can find out easier how your school rates them. They may be of interest to you too insofar as background info is concerned.

Even then - they may just decide tp broadcast the game. There is at the moment a shortage of live sport - or at least next week. DSTV is tonight covering the SWD match against EP in George (CC - Division 1) and there is only one other similar match to be covered this weeked. The other two matches are Super 15 - and they by Tuesday would be sick and tired of repeats.

Golf shares covering of Rugby on channel 1 and the Open will finish on Sunday. They virtually will have no live sport to cover on Channel 1 on Tuesday - so they might just decide to cover the match. There is quite a lot of school sport matches covered in any event - hence the decision to open three more channels on Tuesday next week. One of those channels will cover school sport and a match like this will be interesting to them.

Lets hope and see what happens.

What is the name of your son's school? They mentioned on TV tonight the new DST channels I referred to a match against a team called Evergreen on Tuesday on the new channel.

Thanks - I will watch out for it anyway and if broadcasted will give you a fair summary of the match. I hope it is, since I believe that it could be a first time for your son's school team - Outeniqua's games has been telecasted before - so it won't be anything new to them.

Have seen some of Outeniqua on Youtube, they have 10 players in the SWD side. They have two fat props, one is 130kg and an absolute lardy lump, how he gets through a whole game is beyond me.

Our side is very young, with 7 of them being 16, my little man turned 16 on Monday. They are missing a prop, 2 x locks, flanker and wing on this tour, not sure of the reasons they never toured, might have been financial......big loss in the tightfive.......but they have taken a big group of players - 1sts, 2nds and U15's.

They struggled to get good fixtures as many of sides the coach approached could not accomadate them.......I presume sides have league games on the weekend.....I also know that our director of rugby, a Saffer and good mate of mine, inherited the tour on his arrival a year ago, so had little time to sort out fixtures - I know he tried very hard.

They are due to tour SA in two years time again - will be my sons final year. They had one hell of an age group side so should be a good side in their final year. We tend to get a few SA'n and Kiwi lads on exchange every year. They tend to target big SA tightforwards and NZ backs. They have a SA prop in the side this year, my guess is that he had a one way ticket to SA on tour as he has just finished school, He has WP U19 trials

Boys won their second match on tour against Kasselvlei School, a school I have never heard of. But its been at some expense as their cpatain and tighthead dislocated his ankle and their Northampton Saints lock is flying home for an op after breaking and dislocating his ankle.

Not good news given they face Outeniqua on Tuesday without their starting props, locks and a flanker.

Thanks for the info. Kasselsvlei is a predominantly Coloured housing area - immediately to the south of Bellville. I used to work there very early in my career and knows the area fairly well. However, I do not believe it is one of the recognized rugby schools - but a win remains a win. Sorry to hear about the injuries though.
