The Rebels replacing O;Connor - Marshall Maybe?

The following from an article in the Canberr Times:-
"A series of high-profile recruiting failures would not deter the Melbourne Rebels from attempting to lure Benji Marshall to the club, chief executive Rob Clarke said on Wednesday.
The Rebels have previously been guilty of rushing to buy the best talent on the market in James O'Connor and Kurtley Beale and announced British party boy Danny Cipriani as their first signing. The marquee signings increased interest but, particularly in the cases of Beale and Cipriani, brought unwelcomed off-field problems while players have said O'Connor, who has had issues within the Wallabies but had publicly kept a clean skin at the Rebels, did not fit team dynamics.
They have all left the club in disputed circumstances. But Clarke said the Rebels had learnt from their experiences and would ensure that NRL superstar Marshall could fit into the Rebels. Clarke, who described the club's interest as "high-level", said he spoke to the Wests Tigers playmaker's management within the past week, but there had been no connection with the club's recent announcements to not renew the contracts of O'Connor and Beale.
"It's really a matter for the ARU [Australian Rugby Union] at this point," Clarke said. "They're the ones who are taking most of the calls and if and when the ARU [clarifies] their position then we'll look at it more seriously."
IN THE MEANTIME THERE IS NO NEWS ABOUT THE BRUMBIES TEAM FOR SUNDAY.
