Another young talent packs his bags thanks to AC management skills

So it has been confirmed that JP du plesis has packed his bags for France and signed a three year deal. Some more mismanagement by AC.

How many talented players must we lose because of this clow!!!

Coetzee is a nut case.  Last year in CC he used JP as 13 when De Jongh was not available.  The result was spetacular with a wonderful Stormers backline performance - eg against the Bulls whom they beat by 42-6.  Du Pessis made JJ Engelbrecht look like a learner.   It ws in that game also that I first saw De Allende on the wing.   Both of them scored spectucular tries.   Then De Jongh came back and out went De Allende and Du Plessis.   Dead went the WP backline.

De Jongh is the reason why De Allende and JP never got constant playing opportunities.   These two are ten times the center De Jongh ever was - but Coetzee will not give them playing time.   When De Jongh was in the Sormers backline - they lost virtually all the games he played in - when not there like last Saturday and against the Chiefs the Stormers won the games with good backline attacking and DEFENSIVE play.   Nobody miss 30% in attempted tackles like He does.

So what will happen with De Allende - sooner rather than later he will also get an offer that would take him away from the Stormers and even SA.

There is just one thing the Stormers can do with Coetzee - fire him and send De Jongh packing since no overseas club will offer him a contract.   When you see youngsters being contracted - you must know the overseas clubs see some value in them - when not you know that they are useless.   JP will make a name for himself in France and is likely to play for France in future.

Mozart

Not obsessed - just bitterly disappointed that the Stormers did not use this extremely talented youngster better.   Montpellier actually saw value in him and he is going to make a name for himself in France.   Just one thing - since De Jongh is a Springbok - albeit a very poor one - would Montpellier not rather try and contract him if they saw any value in him?   They saw nothing and no foreign club will make him an offer of contract - so the Stormers are stuck with him.

Mozart

The Stormers were only marginally better than the Sharks - but both were bad news this year.   But the topic is not that one - the topic is contracting of players - and Mozart as per normal tries to sidetrack the issue - because he fails to recognise facts.

I ask a question in my previous comments - what about a response to it?

The point in case is that we haven't even seen JP Du Plesis all season and hardly seen de Allende. The stormers have fantastic back line players that just don't get a look in. We lost Sadie, Whitehead and JJ, all who would have been better than what we have right now. JJ has actually showed how much pace he has. He is big strong and fast and probably an architype winger for the modern game. I rate habana and aplon but you can't have some many small players in your backline, the will simply keep losing posession in the tackle.

AC should have been fired last year, but because the Stormer finished top of the log and the imploded int he semi's which he has done 3 years in a row.

I think the real reasone why the Stormer have so many great youngster are to do with Rassie and the work that he did in the back ground. Now he has left it is becoming all to evedent that Alistair is nothing more than a club coach.

Just imagine a backline with 10 Pollard, 11 JJ, 12 De Allende, 13 Howard, 14 Du Plesis,  15 Swiel

The you have players like Sadie and Whitehead. All of the above players can almost play anywhere in the backline.

Oh wait, they are not the right shade.

There are 15 games being played in super rugby and not even 5 starts can be given to these guys. Pathetic.

Who's JP du Plessis and what have he done on the highest level of rugby to deserve his own thread?
