Fully agree re Van Zyl, how inth ewolrd did hougie make it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As for brussouw well the TV stats showed 10 tackles and two steals in 80 minutes. Sorry but we need better than that. He does not make many meters in terms of ball carrying either. A busy little chap but not quite up to it I fear. Still i keep an open mind on Brussouw and all players but thus far its a no no.

Maybe the worst inclusion though is Spies. The guy should be dropped drom the bulle and they should start Arno Botha at 8.

How in te world did the sharks lose that one as they were by some margin the better team. The wee bulle have a pretty pap pack and they really would at best have been our third ranked team this year barring injuries. Junadre does not cut it in tough games either. Chilli boy was outplayed by Coopper and would be lucky to be ranked 5 in the pecking order. Kirsten was schooled by beast etc etc.

The shaks though need to drop Daniel. Both the bulle and the sharks need new captains.

Mean ou and windpomp may bluster to the contrary but they know the truth

Lord Beeno

The worst inclusions in that training squad - by a mile were the following:-

Forwards

Kankowski (does not even make the Sharks team), Spies and Alberts to start with.

Backline

De Jongh, Hougaard, Basson and  Kirchner.

No surprise that of the seven players listed  - four are from the Blue Bulls.

Dis blou my friends..... Dis blou. Meyer has a long way to go to restore my faith in him, I wouldn't get to excited about who he invites to his training camps, it's who he selects in his final squad that's going to leave a few horrified. If last year is anything to go by  then it's ....Dis blou. If he once again picks that useless tool Kirchner and that other waste of space Spies alongside of Basson then I will lose total faith in him.

Well Denny not long t owait as the final squad will be announced on Saturday evening I heard.

Spies is a real worry but not the only one. Meyer seems quite upbeat last I saw.

Meyer said the reason for Brussouws previous exclusion at the first bok camp was down to the fact he conceded too many penalties. Yet for the second camp he picks a player like Lappies Labuschagne whose penatly count at the time was higher than that of Brussouw's (im not sure of that is still the case). Meyer also said last year that he would settle on two flyhalves and would stick by them going forward, yet four flyhalves attended that last training camp. These are not the first statements that Heyneke has made and the done a complete 360.

Some players are excluded for certain reasons yet others are chosen with no apparent regard for said criteria. It is either desperation and having no apparent clue, or he simply is not smart enough to actually come up with a good reason for the ommission of players who are in form. Denny hit the nail on the head though, the real shocks arent going to be who went to training camp, but who Heyneke actually picks for the squad. And I tend to agree with him that the tide looks like its going to be awefully blue...

If you take the sayings of Meyer into consideration - you can only come to one conclusion -he is clueless about what is required from players in the modern era of rugby.   Take for instance his takes on inside backs.   Their only requuirement is to kick balls -  nothing else is important.   Centers must crashball - otherwise they are no good.

I do not think that Labuschagne is really to blame for a lot of penaltiesascribed to him - he is a very hard tackler and sometimes once a tackle is made he cannot roll away properly like happened in the case of most loosie turnovers.    However, he is a completely different kind of player than Brussow - he is much more into your face type of player and much more active throughout games.  He is also a player with completely different abilities to Brussow.   Line-out work and spedy ball carrying  are prime examples - also Labuschagne is a ball sense player  I doubt whether  Brussow really is.

@Mike, dont get me wrong I have no problem selecting lappies, the issue is that Brussouw doesnt get selected based on his penalty count yet Lappies' penalty count it appers to have not even been considered. Meyer's excuses for the ommission of quality players makes no sense. His selection "criteria" are not the same for everyone which is wrong. It doesnt make sense to me most times

Meyer of course like any decent coach is flexible.Form changes players get injured and so he has to take these into account. I mean how consistyrent is ou maaakie and some others here with their selections that they can criticise Meyer. Bwahhaahahhahaha

No keep your powder dry until the squad is selected oaks.  Ou maaaikie is already running his anti meyer campaign. Shocking stuff from ou maaaikie!

I remind you Meyer knockers for the umpteenth time - save for Morne's kicking going off we would have won the rugby championship and be ranked 1 in the world right now. That after loosing a host of players via retirements and injuries. Hats off to Meyer on what he has accomplished thus far.

But please Meyer no Spiesies, Hougaard, Rhule, Chilli boy, Kolisi, de Jongh, etc. Put in Van der Walt and De Jager and call up Bakkies and Louw, Tiaan and Fourie. I want van Zyl/Reinach in the squad. Allende as well should make your final squad.

Give me a call Meyer and I will put you right -free of charge nogal! Thumbs Up  when you call make sure you have an up to date status re injuries please.
