compared to some of my other teams named duriong the week, this one is different in that it contains players who played in losing sides, ranger, thorn & godwin.

all these players were head and shoulders above the others thorughout the comp.

so who makes ur team??? players must have played in those actual positions though & not can play in another so u put them in their willy nilly, :o)

You select three Sharks playing against patsies....and one Stormer playing against a team that crushed the wee Sardines the week before. Aplon's try, for example, was magnificent. Jean took on the whole Brumbies back row on the run and unlike Fransie, stopped them dead. Please think about degree of difficulty.

@mozter,

bro, the two main reasons as to why i had more shark players then i did stormers,,,

1) ive never rated the brumbies, u only need to look at my comments since forever about white & the brumbies and the level of opposition that the brumbies have had. if u had read them, u would see i think they are a very overated team.
in saying that though, both white & the brumbies have gone up a notch, not because of their beatdown on the sharks, but because of the way they stuck in there with the stormers.

2) ive always rated the stormers, IMO despite their poo start, im expecting them to top the SA conferecne & possibly even the combined conference, i dont even thats a big call, ive always rated the stormers.

so if anything, ur criteria would have me fielding more brumbies then anything.

in regards to my teams of the week
its got nothing to do with who ur oppositions is, its about who was most effective for their team in that position, a combination of the way they played taking into account indivdual skills & synergy with their team.
thatrs the main basis of my team.

im not saying my selections are gospel, just a reflection of my opinon and nothing else.

u should post who u think makes the top 15, i would be intrested, :o)

Sasu I don't catch enough of the games to make that judgement. My cable set up in the States doesn't carry rugby...so I am dependent on the internet. I watch some of the key games later on U Tube.

Sas, Strauss was the best hooker and Steph du Toit was far superior to Thorn, as was de Jager of the Cheetahs.

Read was better than Daniel, as was Vermeulen

Elstadt and Labasacgne were better than Whitelock at blindside.

Despite all the moans, groans and grumble I in essence agree with your team - with one real difference - I was not impressed by Thorne and cannot agreee wit you there.   I think both De Jager and Du Toit was better than he was.

Insofar as Reinach is concerned - I am a bloody fool.  After having him in my foxsport team I buggered up and chucked him out - what a disaster.   He is a good scrummie though and some expereience would be of great value to him

@ mozter,

always thought u lived in the UK for some reason.
bummer about the coverage in the states, thats gotta suck for a rugby nut but theres heaps of good sites for live streaming & the states have very high speed internet connections.

@ saffex,

i can accept the de jager over thorn, but not so much du toit, considering that was his first start & against the lowly rebels, i was expecting a lot more then what i saw.
when decinding on my No4 i was trying to decide between de jager/thorn & opted with thorn as his efforts contributed more to the highlanders then de jagers did to the cheetahs, was close between those two though.

read was solid, but daniels was better. alot of the momentum created in the sharks run was on the back of the mutliple linebreaks/tackle breaks that daniels provided. daniels support play was also first class.

labuschanges defnesive efforst were unreal, best in the comp, and elsdat wasnt too far behind, but both were more all defence then  attack & thats why i rolled with whitelock.
they both had decent ball carries, but whitelock made his tackles and contributed to the attack.

strauss over parsons??? o_O no way hosea, parson was the best hooker bar none by a country mile, 16 tackles, a line break, 2 tackle breaks and an offload plus 3 turnover penalties he forced the waraths to concede.
strauss wouldnt even be the 2nd best hooker IMO, i rated kyle cooper, hika elliot and stephen moore ahead of him too.

ranger over willams was easy fro me to make, willaims was solid on attack, but he let through to many tackles in his game against the higalnders, even getting beaten twice by youngster jason emery who first stepped him insdie out then bowled him over in a one on one. pretty embarassing considering emerys of a similar build to tim.

Sas I can live with your other calls but Thorn over Steph du Toit is laughable, in fact your whole take on Steph du Toits performance is laughable.

Steph du Toit, de Jager and Retalick were all far better than Thorn. Steph du Toit was the best 4 of the weekend by some distance

Sasue

You are naughty by coming up with Thorne as your lock in this case.   You have De Jager in your Foxsport selections and his point allocation was higher than Thorne's - matter of fact he was the highest point scoorer after Bekker in the lock position.

Nautghty I say because "do not do what I do - do what I say.".

I had a miserable bloody week on both fantasy sites and scored the least points per week in  both competition.   How is it possible that all the inform players suddenly went completely flat in one week?   Wish it was not the Sharks bye this weekend otherwise I am going to improve both teams drastically,   If Serfontein is in the starting line-up this coming week - even against the brumbies - he is definitely in like flynn,

I looked at the top point scorers this week and of the 15 six were Sharks.  The worst point scorer from that team was Lambie - whom I had as captain (what a disaster).  He was subbed and so was Coetzee - who was doing well enoughl.    The other Shark player I had was Jordaan - and he also sucked big time.   Time for a drastic change in approach is needed and needed urgently.    .

@mikey,

lolz, didnt know that de jager was the second highest point scorer after bekker, was stoked to hear that. but i wont be chnaging him from my team, IMO de jager is a star on the rise, a tower of a man with a huge work rate.

as for selecting him over thorn in my team of the week, i mentioned a few times that foxsport stats & testrugby even more so are not without their flaws, not saying that theyre not accurate, but my team of the week is based on the form i saw from the players.

so de jager & luatau are going to be my main locking combination for foxsport, well for the forseeable future anyway. i would love to bring in bekker who IMO is the form spXV of the comp so far, hes definately going to be recrutied in my testrugby team, where i need to repalce du toit.

number of transfers also play a role in selections with my foxsport team, cos i really want to get rid of jordaan who will be gone this week as well as carter who is on a baby holiday.
if i had my way, the following would be all gone this week,,,
charlie faumuina
ben alexander
liam messam
richard kingi
daniel carter
lima sopoaga
ryan crotty
paul jordaan
but with only three transfers, i got to be very efficent with my three transfers, wildcard is out of the question, thats going to be handy for all those who have it come the june test series.

carter is a definate with his baby leave & im thinking of c leilafano or g anscombe, prob leilafano though cos cheifs have a bye next week.
paul jordaan is also gone for conrad who will captain the canes against the kings.
and lastly messam for cane, cane hasne been delivering & like coetzee who have been regulars over my teams, he is gone this week too.

problem is i have charlie faumuina who is injured, so if either afeaki or alexander are not starting, messam gets saved for one more round.

sigh,,,,fantasy selection dramas,,LMAO, :oP

i saw that i overtook u on testrugby.com, but my lead isnt anything significant & u can easily overtake me with a good round, dosnet even have to be a great round, just decent.
my goal this week is to narrow the gap on test rugby, thats the one eating up the most brain power att he moment, LMAO, :oD

Sasue

I agree with you about most of you choices to go out.   My limited changes this week is indeed problematic.  I will asap have Bekker and De Jager - with DuToit as back-up.  Don't take him out too soon - you maybe disappointed.   Incidentally - my mothers surname was De jager - so he may be distant family.

At loosie I am stuck with Smith, Cane and Labuschagne and have Coetzee on the bench - you made a mistake with removing Coetzee too early.

Scrummie is a problem case for me - I like Pretorius - byut he had a shit game against the Force.   I got rid of Reinach - but he was excellent against the Rebels.  McKibben's only real asset is kicking at goal - otherwise he is very average and I was dissapointed by alal the New Zealand scrummies thus far.   Where to go"  Huge problem.

I am sticking with Lambie for the present and will bench him thisweekend - he had a shit game against the Rebels and could do nothing right.   Problems with the rest.   Cruden was so-so, Barrett disappointing = but may show some class against the Kings - so the latter may be my choice as second flyhalf on Test Rugby.

Centers is a mess and I cannot afford Conrad Smith -   hoping for Serfontein to start - he is the only player I can really afford.

Problems - Problems - Problems

@mikey,

no choice with du toit, hes in my testrugby team & i wont call him back up till i see him start regularly & more importantly have the same impact when starting that he has had of the bench.
he wont make my foxsport team, cos i am in the middle of special ops at the moment & dont want to reveal my tactics till a little bit later, lolz,,till then mums the word.

i would recruit bekker in both teams straight away, but for now hes replacing du toit who has a bye & i will leave my fox locking combo as is.

my only mistake with coetzee wa i should have gotten rid of him earlier, his last 3 points have been 20, 23 & 26, thats average but for his price thats no good. last year he cost 100k give or take 10k and was averaging 33-37, it was common to be disappointed when he scored 30, so his fox rating has been a bit of a disappointment this year.

mesaams gone now, hes in the exact same boat as coetzee, usually a reliable cash cow, but hes all dried up at the moment.
need to decide between can and vito though,,,,,,,o_O

i like ur thinking with barret & im consdiering him now too, looks like it will be between barret and leilafano. given that the brumbies are playing the bulls, i think i will roll with leilafno, got a feeling the bulls are going to get smashed this weekend.
