Fantasy Rugby - Test Rugby - Not for Mozart and Saffex

I have now finalized my Test Rugby selections and hope to coin in this weekend.

My selections are as follows:-

Forwards

  *   Adriaan Strauss    -   Cheetahs

  *   James Parsons     -  Blues

Locks

  *   Hennie Bekker      -   Stormers

  *   Sam Whitelock     -    Crusaders

Loosies

   *    Marcel Coetzee  -    Sharks

   *    Arno Botha         -     Bulls

Halfbacks

   *     Pat  Lambie      -     Sharks

   *     Dan Carter        -     Crusaders

Centers

   *     Paul Jordaan    -    Sharks

  *      Damian De Allende - Stormers

Outside backs

   *      Lionel Mapoe    -    Bulls

  *      James O'Connor  -  Rebels

Costs as always was a major problem and I had to limit costs to a minimum.  I picked some Bulls Players because of the potential weakness of the Forces team.

The 12 membr squad is made up as follows:

Sharks     -      3

Crusaders  -    2

Bulls           -    2

Stormers    -    2

Blues         -     1

Rebels      -      1

Cheetahs  -      1

Am going to be in  a jam in respect of Round 4 selections - since I have only 4 trades left.   Hope I make a killing this weekend and can then rest on my laurels next weekend.

You are giving all your secrets away.

Some will use your ideas to better their team.

Like me ... thanks Mike ... your a real pal.

Oh and by the way ... I hope Hennie's not playing any more ... cause if he is the Stormers are truly in for the high jump.

Ou Maaik, for the record, I had added Parsons, Lambie and Carter to my team before I saw your post.

Some good picks there but you shouldn't have added any Stompies. You might find yourself shouting for some Hapless Stompies players against the Mighty Sharks.

One problem with Fantasy Rugby is you end up shouting for players and/or teams you wouldn't normally shout for or encourage . . . so even though I know I should only pick on what my head says, I do pick based on my heart as well and I try not to have any players in my team who will be playing the Sharks that weekend. It's a very difficult balancing act sometimes.

Had to put in Bekker - being the top lock available.   Was in last week and my changes had to be limited.   De Allende is in because I had to "balance the books".

Anyway - great minds think alike.

Hennie the top lock???

I don't think so ...

Bulbring, Retallick and Sykes all have a better average ... and they're not as expensive ...

Like I said before ... this is a thinking man's game ...

The problem with Bekker was that Fourie's line out throwing last week was atrocious and it cost Bekker dearly insofar as points are concenbed.   He was in other ways way above Retallick in performance and Bullbbrig and Sykes had their moment of glory against a weakish team and I would never select them against stronger opposition..

Pity about Taute being out though - he may not look good on the field of play - but he amassed a huge number of points last week.    Next week he is back in to replace Mapoe.
