rebels 30 vs force 27 review,,,
February 15, 2013, 12:43:13

1st half of this game was very entertaining, especially the force who were  literally a force to be reckoned with in the first 25-30 minutes.
rebels had zero answers as the force kept feeding their momentum through their forwards and their backline who on paper are average like a mofo.

rebels star players came through in shining colours, well higginbotham didnt who was pretty shit. but the others kept their composure and the rebels ended up with the win.

2nd half was some ugly gritty rugby, and while the rebels won it, the force didnt make it easy.

ref was useless, made heaps of calls which the force can feel hard done by. in the 39minute, inman pilfers the ball for the rebels, but he didnt release the player in the tackle and while he started on his feet, he pilfered the ball when on his back.
the very next phase beale passes the ball forward to bieber, o_O
thorughout the whole game the ref was very poor when it comes to the tackle player releasing the player. i ope we dont see him ref the big important games.

Thanks for the update Sasu, thought I'd be able to watch the game, but work still has priority...even over super rugby.

Sasuie

Come now Sasue - have a look at my other post and tell me that I did not F#ck up my selections for fantasy rugby completely.   I did not have any of the three yellow card offenders in my squad - so at least the reductions in points will not hurt me.  Thanks for the advice about Kingy - nice player.

The final score was actually 30 - 23,  either way it was predominantly a evenly match up as well as the possession. I wasn't impressed by the rebels defence in the 1st half although they did come to a understanding as a team that they need to keep the composure up and improve the defensive line in order to get a positive result in the second half which they did, the rebels defence looked less vulnerable in some areas.

One particular player i was impressed with throughout the match was Alfie Mafi with 65 running metres, a Excellent winger in great form. James O'connor's clearance kicking was rather average even under no pressure on some occasions, it would be interesting to see how he copes throughout the whole season. Overall i quite enjoyed this match, a great way to start the super 15, credit to the W Force they  played well.

Possession - Rebels 50% - Force 50%
LineBreaks - Rebels 5 - Force 7
Runs - Rebels 67 - Force 95
Tackles Made - Rebels 76 - Force 61
Tackles Missed - Rebels 20 - Force 15
Turnovers - Rebels 11 - Force 19
Kicks - Rebels 17 - Force 18

Thanks for the info.   I said elsewhere that I was surprised by the performance put up by the Force - they really played well.  The stats proved that they could easilyhave been the victors.

The Rebels seems to have all h big names - and they were not so good that they actually over-whelmed  the Force lower-profile players.   I agree it was a most enjoyable game.

Higginbotham had a schocker - 2 missed tackles, 2 long arm penalties and a yellow card. Only 6 tackles made and 2 runs. Killing my fantasy

I would never have selected Higginbotham.   I believe  that clever players perform better in compeititons like  fantasy rugby.   Higginbotham is a very physical player - with limted top storey capacity.

My selection for the first round got 253 points for the Rebels-Force game.   I picked lower cost players for todays game - except Ged Robinson and James Brier - so as to have high cost players tomorrow.   Hope they are not disappointing.   My players for todays game cost me only  $1 350 000 - the remainder of the money was spent on High cost players in tomorrows game.

You may well be right CM. My first time doing this, as I gather it it for you too. Higginbotham will probably have to go with all the quality available in the second round

Love playing NFL fantasy (usually in at least 6 different leagues every year), so figured would give this a shot. Takes a little while to get used to the interface and there are a lot more variables to consider in scoring, but it is fun.

My first time in the game as well.   However, I think the key is to find lower-cost players that won.t let you down - while at the same time concentrating on the opposing teams as well.    I my out in five players from the Sharks and five from the Force in th seond round -  which would leave me with only five players from the other franchises.

If I were you - in view of the derby games next week - I would oncentrate on New Zealand players - although they are very high priced.   Insofar as lower-priced SA players are concerned - I would go for Jordaan and De Allende.

Thanks for the heads up. I do have Jordaan on the bench. De Allende is an interesting call.

Hey Sasue.

Can you please not put the score in the thread title? This request goes for everyone else as well.

I'm in Canada and a lot of games are on very late Thursday night while I'm sleeping ,and Friday mornings when I'm at work and I have to record them. So I watch them Friday night and on the weekends.

Maybe just put Rebels vs. Force Review?? Please?

Thanks. :)

@canrugby,
considering the score was actually 30-23, thats not a bad idea, LMAO, :oD
so no more scores in the thread title, :o)

@mikey,
those were some nice selections and ur of to a great start. im very lucky cos at differnt stages i had both alcock and higginbotham in my teams, but then decided to go down another path,,,phew, o_O

i remember a hurricanes vs highlanders match where i picked nonu in my fantasy team, he was penalised 4 times, got a yellow card AND a red card, o_O i think he gave me -34 points something that round, but someone else got it worse cos he was their captain, LMFAO, :oD
