australias triple threat brumbies, waratahs, reds,,,respect returns to the OZ conference,,,
February 15, 2013, 08:53:08

i have to say im vry impressed with the OZ clubs, well not the force, but the other 4 are doing great things to improve their conferences retard friendly image which IMO made their conferecnes the last two years a joke.
all teams have made great strides to improve their performances and im prediciting the reds/waratahs/brumbies will fighting hard to lock up the top two spots in the aussie conference.

waratahs coach cheika during the pre season gave strict orders to not kick for goal for any peanlties they were awrded with. he wants to fine tune the attacking structures for the season. SA clubs could learn alot from cheika who is fast becoming one of my favourite coaches.
this has helped folau big time who IMO will have a SBW effect. wratahs will be the seasons big improvers & IMO they will make the top 6.

brumbies hired NRL coach brian smith to help improve their defence, they have recrutied well & white seems to get the best out of his players.
chirstain leilafano was outystanding until his injury last year and while they have lost superstar hopper, they have gained one back in pocock. i prefer hooper to pocock though.

reds man for man are a championship winning team, but right now have a few injuries to deal with, i cant see them not making the finals. TBH, especially once their big guns genia and horwil are available>
IMO one of the best halves pairing in the world is the genia and pooper halves pairing. on reputation genia is the best halfback in the world, but 2012 was a pretty sit season for him and coopers stint in boxing has him looking really sharp. when these two play well, the reds follow suit and they are easily the match if not better of the crusaders, chiefs and stormers.

rebels have real class in their squad & depth to boot. beale, delve, bieber, kingi, inman, mitchel, fulligasti, pyle. this will be the rebels best year IMO, but unfortunately they wont make the finals.

IMO the top 6 teams by the end of the year will be,,,
1 stormers
2 crusaders
3 waratahs
4 chiefs
5 reds
6 sharks.

bookmark this thread boys, so i can lol all the way to the bragging bank, :o)

Interesting take Sas, probably a little off the mark with the Rebels, I think they'll be fighting hard to not be in the bottom two of the complete log. I reckon the Sharks will be higher up and the Stormers lower down....and I hope the Bulls surprise a few people and sneak into the top 6. We shall see.

No ways the Rebels will be in the bottom two places this season.

We all know the Kings are going to finish an embarrassing last with possibly no points at all and I think in about two hours time we'll have the confirmation that the Rebels are comfortably better than the Force.

I suspect we'll see the Rebels, the Cheetahs and the Blues fighting it out for places 11-13 on the table.

Sasue

You are a nic guy - but I think reserve the bragging a few weeks more.   Then we can really start.  My impression is that the Crusaders are going to struggle ths year.  I am a Hurricanes supporter and my guess is the top six will be as follows:-

Sharks

Chiefs

Reds

Stormers

Hurricanes

Waratahs

No Crusaders and no Bulls.   The balls of those two teams will be squeezed without mercy - and I can already hear the cries of pain emanating from them.   LOL

And I will lay a bet - the Kings will be last on the log.   That is for bloody certain!!

Ja, I reckon the safest bet in world rugby is the Kings ending bottom of the combined log.

 Good write-up Sasuke.

Rebels need some defence - terrible in pre-season and one wonders without those two yellow cards if Force would have pulled off upset

Hey saSUE I hope I havent  unduly influenced you re the top dog bit!  Why are crustites above chiefs? Brycy and Sitting Bull wont like that take.

I think one only gets a sense of how strong units are after about three games. Then anything can still happen due to injuries.

sasu...mate you need to add the Hurricanes to yr list as they are one of the strongest sides and i thought you were a big Hurricane supporter ...easily fixed just edit out Stormers as they will no doubt choke again and replace that selection with the Hurricanes..

@ben10 aka stormered,
considering ur definition of productive multitasking is sleeping and breathing at the same time, how could u possibly think u could influence anything??? o_O

IMO certain teams are just no brainers and given the luxury that OZ and SA have with their conferences, theres a lot of logic to my final 6 predictions.

i will be interested to see if the waraths live up to the hype which i have recently subscribed to. but even if they dont, folau is still going to be huge, SBW huge.

@brycy,
i do love my canes, but years of being a hurricanes supporter has hardend my resolve when it comes to thinking with my head and not my heart, :o/

hurricanes have to face the chiefs, crusaders, highlanders twice. while the hurricanes have what it takes to beat them, those teams also have what it takes to beat us, just look at last years confernces where the chiefs, crusaders, hurricanes and highlanders all scored one win against each other and only the blues lost every NZ conference game.
and now when u look at the blues team, k mealamu, a wiliams, c faumuina, a borric, p weepu, r ranger, f halai, j wiliosn, c piutau plus some of the most talented young players and superstars from the ITM and this is NZ s weakest team, o_O

hurricanes have got more then just opposition to contend, the fact there are two spots guranteed to not be NZ teams and the fact the hurricanes are playing in the NZ conference, i just dont see them making the finals.
hurricanes are still a strong team no doubt about it, but the chiefs and crusaders are stronger. if the format was fair, then i would definately change my mind, but SNAZAR wanted to level the playing field for SA and OZ hence this rubbish format and me writing of my canes.

Regarding the Rebels performance it wasn't a impressive win at all, Western Force was clearly dominant surprisingly according to the stats, in addition i don't see the Rebels at mid table due to the lack of composure in some areas and discipline, the defence was rather average. The Brumbies vs Reds is a interesting match up considering that genia and horwill are not available, they are key players that make a positive impact on the outcome of these matches. If Cooper can bring a sense of flair on attack and open up opportunities for the centres we should see a rather one sided win, Dom Shipperly has potential on the wing hes gonna need some space. I think the Reds could snatch the win. I also believe waratahs can do well this season, im certainly looking forward to seeing the new star folau he'll boost the waratahs to success.

My opinion on the top 6 teams this season is
Stormers
Chiefs
Sharks
Crusaders
Reds
Highlanders

Lucid

There always must be an Aussie team amongst the first three teams on the log - therefore the Reds at 3 should be in fact more realistic.
