A girl

To be fair to Beenoo - Mattfield himself said his best playing weight was between 106 and 108 kgs.  Wikipedia gave his updated weight at 110 kgs.   It is likely that his normal playing weight was somewhere between 106 and 110 kgs.

Mike please correct your error re 198 kgs. Ou snapster will next be maintaining victor was the biggest lock to ever play the game. You know how gullible he is - and to make matters worse those two very servile gimps rooitwit and  Lady Becs will be defending him for all they are worth. Crazy 1 Crazy 1 Crazy 1

No ou snapster has had huge egg land on this score. Victor on twitter said his weight was 107 kg. In his book his says it was beteen 106 and 108 kg. Bulle website says 108 as does SA Rugby.net (Offcial home of the Springboks).  After not playing for a few months his weight wa down to 103 kg and it was concluded he was to light to return to the Boks - thankfully.

Given the "provincial" debacle one can only conclude ou snapster is an egg magnet rivaling rooitwit!ROTFL  ROTFL

Unfortunately the matfield delusion fooled many and only a relatively few wide awake men with rugby a[removed]en escaped the delusion. Even one wise man, who said Beeno knows a good lock when he sees one, was caught by the conman and erroneoulsy maintains wee matfield was the greatest lock ever!!!

Matfilefd was goo din thelinouts and kick offs simply because he wa sso light his props coul dtoss him high and quickly - he failed in all other areas of lock play.

So I concluded that if wee matfield can be such a fine conman he could be a good attack coach?

No discussion of this nature is complete without a quote from one of the greatest locks ever who carried wee matfield through his playing days - "vctor doesnt always play in the backline"(ex Bakkies). victors achievement was to make folk think he was playing when he was not.

Just think of it you take Marcell Coetzzee, stretch him out to a string bean and play him lock (Coetzee is 106 kg) Now what  person not suffering an emperor without clothes delusion would buy that.

Case closed.

Beeno

Interesting quote from Bakkies though - "Vctor doesnt always play in the backline".  Does that implay that he sometimes play as a forward as well?   I mean if Bakkies said he sometimes did play in the backline - that would indicate a limitation in the number of times it did happen.  The way Bakkies put it indicates otherwise.

No wonder the Bulls now appointed Mattfield as attack coach - he has enough backline experience for that.  LOL

Spot on Mike!

However all this needs proving. I do note however the bulle lineouts against the Lions was not good. I do hope victor succeeds as a coach lest we get him back as a commentator. Yaaaaawn

Beeno

Another interesting thought though.  I think the All Blacks made a study of Mattfoeld's performances - since all their locks try to copy his style of play to the T.

What's all this interest in body weight?

Mozart's been carrying on and on and on about Dave's weight since I rejoined.

Ok ... here's my contribution ... I am 82kg ... does anyone give a [removed]???

Didn't think so!!

Al please. Do you really think this would have carried on without snapsters intense interest.

Personally my stance is that, in terms of heght, is is more likely to be 5 foot   9 inches in his bulit up shoes. The chances have to be very high he wears built up shoes  - for obvious reasons.

Nobdy cares about your lack of weight Al and it will not become a long term debate as you would not be interested in keeping it going. Getting a glimmer?

This has been going on for a bit longe than your joining the board. It has a history of some years now and always crops up in the quiet period before the rugby starts when ou snapster gets board and mentions how Moz has lied about his weight/height.  Expect another round at the end ofthe year!

We may now be off his weight/ height and have finished with the Provincial issue and moved onto property. As long as its about ou snaster he is delighted! Hahahahahahhahahaha - you have to admit Moz is a very obliging person catering or snapster like this!!.

Bye the way have you purchsed an up to date chess software programme yet. You will never beat ou rooitwit untl you do! ROTFL

Capone

I don't think anybody in fact give a [removed] about weight of members - I have in fact stop reading all posts not rugby-related between A girl and Mozart.

The whole issue started off by a genreral concept of A girl to the extent that a player weighing say  100 kgs is always better than a player weighing say 92 kgs.   Thaat led to a long debate on whether weight is the only factor to be borne in mind - or whether speed and ball sense are not factors to be borne in mind as well.

For some reason or another - the issue became a serious source of disagreement amongst membrs and that is when the mudslinging contest really started.   It soon enough jumped from trading personal insuts  like "knowing [removed] all" or being "stupid" to personal sizes and weights.   For me the whole peronal debate ois rubbisjh and should at best be ignored..

Yes leave it to those who find it entertaining - as do most judging by responses.

My only objection is some gutter type comments.

Mike seems to think only rugby is entertaining! Lets not be too provincial Mike! Hahahahahahahaha

Mike ... I see ... yawn!!!!!!!!!

I can think of a hundred more interesting things to talk about in the off season that body weight.

Beenie ... you say Ol Dave got "board" ... what board would that be? A chess board perhaps?? Monopoly?? Scrabble??

And yes ... I too enjoy off the topic banter ... however keeping something going for years on end doesn't do it for me.

Mozart certainly can harp on and on about something so trivial. Like an old woman with a wet panty. One can see his mind has deteriorated over the last few years.

Poor dear ... gone and gotten old has he.

Glad I don't know him personally!!

Al Moz 's mind is as sharp as ever - witness the provincial thread which he wrapped up very nicely.

Snapster started the weight issue once more and Moz very kindly obliged him. Can be funny at times but decends into some bad name calling by snapster like racist pig etc. Leave that stuff out and then whoever wants to follow the matter feel free to do so - which apears to be many.

Snapster has become an internet celeb on the back of all this - a modelling offer for short fat men clothing is bound to follow! Bwahahahhaha
