I hope you all had a blessed and wonderful XMas season

I am particularly worried about the very limited or even zero contributions by Sasue, polyboy, brycy. New Zealand AB, AllBlackand Blue and other constructive lovers of the game.   I cannot care a hoot about the ignoramuses like nukefreekiwi and poi-e - but please come back and get some sanity here on the site.

Hope you are all fine - seriously miss you though.

Mike we all miss the kiwis like one misses an aching tooth after its fixed by the dentist! ROTFL

However no not welcoming Poieee and Nuked back as they make an important contrinbution on the lunatic side of things - so necessay for an entertaining board. There are enough sane sensible guys like us around who know their rugby!

With the rugby season yet to start in the SH the kiwis hibernate as they have little else that interests them. I am trying on backing black to keep some interst going  but the nz oaks there seem very down and depressed. They dont want to discuss mcaaw dating the english goose or the ab gay problem or anything! All I hear is fark off Beeo etc. Hahhahahahahaha  - cant get them to see the abs are on the skids save for renewal etc. My rugby education programme has hit very stoney terrain.

However I suspect once the rugby starts and when some NZ side manages to beat the queens they will be all over us like a rash once more.

Also please realise kiwis do not like to face up to the music are denialist by nature. What with the mcaaw incident, the question of gay abs and of course the dismal first test re the black caps they are lying low as is their wont. Allblackandblue being a notable exception.

Johan Oldenburg is a South African rugby player who emigrated to the Netherlands because of his sexual orientation. In South Africa, he couldn't be openly gay. Even though the Netherlands is well-known for its tolerance of homosexuality, it was only two years after Oldenburg arrived in the Netherlands that he decided to come out.

Found somewhere for you to play Beeno.

Homosexuals playing rugby? Yes, it does actually happen. Blight Rugby Club, founded in February this year, started out as a small gathering of gay friends having a fabulous picnic in Greenpoint, Cape Town and has grown into a weekly touch rugby game.

This friendly Sunday match is made up of around 25 dedicated members and a few more 'come-and-goers'.

Blight’s fun logo reflects a tongue-in-cheek approach. The cock is obviously for the gay boys and the fish is for the lesbians. Blight is a play on the term LGBTI, with an added H for the nice (read hot) heteros, because absolutely everyone is welcome.

And everyone, at whatever skill or fitness level, is encouraged to play. Most new players have never once played a ball sport while others have more experience; the result is a nice, challenging level of play.

"Queer touch rugby is the big kiss at the end of the weekend. I have avoided rugby my whole life, and if you told me seven months ago that I'd now be looking forward to it all week, I'd know that you had me confused with someone else," said one regular.

If running around the field is definitely not your thing, you can also join the spectators who are encouraged to sit on the sidelines while perving / gossiping / judging / getting sloshed.

This is where I will obviously be, since sport is a deep source of fear and inadequacy for me. I suppose that is the whole point of Blight. It is a safe space to have fun and realise rugby is not exclusively for heterosexuals. (I would be an effing great cheerleader though…)

If you are keen to get involved, Blight meet every Sunday at 4:30 p.m. at the Hamilton’s Rugby Field, on the corner of Helen Suzman Boulevard and Vlei Road in Greenpoint.

After every game they head over to the Slug and Lettuce or Beefcakes for drinks (and sometimes even eats). In fact, Blight’s new shirts have been sponsored by Beefcakes, thanks to owner Grant Eglin.

There are plans to take Blight national, with new clubs possibly opening in Joburg and other cities next year (contact them if you're keen to get involved).

And, there’s even talk of events with celebrity rugby players (please, God) who would be guest referees / coaches, possibly linked to some kind of charity game to raise funds for LGBTI causes too.

I you want a butch new profile picture, to possibly meet your future boyfriend (that has actually happened) or just feel like some good, clean, dirty fun then get in touch with Blight on their Facebook page.

Blight is also always looking for more sponsorship to expand and grow, so if you have some of that pink rand you might want to blow (ahem), or have any queries, contact Max Roberts at blightrugby@gmail.com.

Here itis MIke

Wellington - Gay rights advocates in New Zealand have called for a homosexual All Black player to openly declare his sexuality and act as a role model in the fight against bigotry. (Bigotry to think gay is not unatural?)

Broadcaster Steve Gray told the Sunday Star-Times that he was aware there had been several gay All Blacks and that it was time for one to stand up and be counted. (Several is half a team!)

The openly-gay TV presenter even said he had slept with one player, although none from the team have ever come out in the country where rugby is a national passion.

"Everyone always asks what his name was, but I can't remember. I don't know who the All Blacks are. But at the time I checked with a friend and it was totally true," he said.

Tony Simpson, chairperson of the gay rights group Rainbow Wellington, said he believed that if a homosexual All Black came out he was sure the majority of New Zealanders would back him (Surely not!).

"If an All Black was to come out I think most people would just say 'well, what does that have to do with the way he plays rugby?'.

"Some people will be hostile - some have never reconciled themselves to decriminalisation of homosexuality and try to debate it every time it comes up - but by and large most people have gotten over it," he said. (Nope most people will always think it unnatural - I mean if everyone did as they did the human race would end)

Former All Black centre Craig Innes joined the call for a gay All Black to step forward, saying it would be good for the young gay community to have a rugby role model to look up to. (How wonderful lets encourage nz to have more gays!)

"I'd admire someone who had the guts to do something like that," he said.

"It would obviously take a very brave person to do it, but if you look at Ian Roberts, who is probably the toughest, meanest rugby league player to ever play the game, he came out a few years ago and people hardly batted an eyelid." Roberts, an Australian rugby league international, came out in 1995.

Well for the abs sake I do hope a whole lot of gay abs dont emmerge from the woodwork - dispite these gay activists thinking its great the abs would be the laughing stock of world rugby.

Bit unfortunate fo rthem especially after all the goings on in the UK by the Kiwis and their fans. They needed a media respite.ROTFL ROTFLROTFL

Looks like we beat you in your own country at more than just rugby.

stationery store manager representing New Zealand has won the title of Mr Gay World in Johannesburg.

Andreas Derleth, 32, who works at Warehouse Stationery, last night won the annual contest for gay men standing up for gay and human rights.

Originally from Germany, Derleth moved to New Zealand four years ago on a working holiday visa and "fell in love" with the country.

Hi there Bobok welcome back to the board!

Very sad to see another ab (former ab in this case) behaving so very badly. Fancy him beating up an small old man when you are a 116 kg bruiser! His lawyer said h e was bummed. Not a very professional utterance but I gues it was a nz lawyer. Hahahahahahahaha

One sincerely hopes for the sake of our dear kiwi friends (please note Mike) that this endless stream of bad reports re the abs drys up. However how realistic a possibility is that is the question? ROTFLROTFLROTFL

Hardly agree with anything Beeno writes but in the former AB bottling, I respect your humerous take on it. However when I read it, it came across as the worst case of bulleying regardless of the circumstances and this guy is a disgrace to the AB's and rugby in general.....what a friggen idiot!  Beeno see your tearing it up on backingblack. Have to say some of the kiwi posters there  are........easily baited, was thinking about warning them but then though nah its all good natured laughs.

as for the so called gay AB, its all speculation from a reknown big mouth in NZ by a dude callesd stephen gray, he use to be a morning TV show presenter who would often be drunk and his number one favourite past time was reviewing and critising the crap out of movies he never actually watched. he even admitted later that one review was based on a trailer as he was never going to watch the movie. he was also busted using a review from another british movie crtic where he plaugerised the whole review word for word, o_O

hes a complete tool and i find his comments lack a whole lot of merit, i mean lets take a look at the facts, he claims he slpet with an AB despite not knowing who he is??? how odd seeing as how nearly every NZer knows All Black players even if theyre not familiar rugby like my mum.

but even so, given the status of All Blacks in NZ, dont u think the AB celebrtiy pulling power could pull in something better than this,,,,

yeah right, mr 50 shades of gray looks to be tryinng to get the spotlight with the gay brigade looking to play the political angle. o_O

nothing wrong with gays mind u, each to their own but i have to admit i seeing guys kiss grosses me out a bit, yet two fine ladies sharing a deep passionate kiss seems very natural and beautiful, LMAO, :oP

like i said, end of the day, each to their own, :o)

Sasue

Nice to hear about your wonderful holiday in Thailand.  Hope everything will be wonderful this year and that the All Blacks beat all teams - bar the Springboks.

The Super Series is just over over 6 weeks away and then I assume the real rugby discussions will take off - thanks heaven for that.   We may get less rubbish floating around than at present.

In the meantime there are some matches being organised locally in preparation for the Super series and some of the franchise teams will play each other or other opposing teams.   That will give us an idea about early indictions and if those are not bradcasted in Australia and New Zealand - we can write and report on them on this Board.   You can respond similarly on your side.

Have a wonderful time and despite all the false noises enjoy it.

Talking about battle lines being drawn - I still have issues with Foxtel giving the Viewing Rights to Setanta TV for the Test against England who then wanted a 15month Contract just for that one Test! The Test got lost in translation and I never got to watch the Test (phew - although I am told the Poms TOTALLY deserved to win unlike that "other" Team we ALL know in Duneidin :) ) and it left a rather sour Test with Foxtel - I have suspended my membership in protest (one man protest) - at least until the games start LOL!
