Site comments on Google
January 08, 2013, 13:14:37

About three months ago I started a thread on this site on smaller backline players in which I made reference to Timo Swiel and to my surprise I found that the comments dealing with smaller backline players was given as a separate item on google.   I was interested to see whether there were other people who shared my opinions and when I opened the Google item - my original comments and all subsequent comments on the thread was there.

How does that happen?   I think if that is a general trend we should all be more careful about what we write on this site - since being on google as separate items lends itself to be read wider than only by members here.   So please limit the personal insults and lets get back to really pertinent issues.

Are you aware whether  other threads on this site also found their way onto google as separate items?

Mike you can relax - who in real life would guess that clever Mike is you?

Yes I have found Beeno coming up on google.  I once found rooitwit a few years ago like that on a site pontificating on rugby matters to the dismay of all there!

Mike,

I work for myself in search marketing(keyword marketing)- This is organic SEO and Adwords PPC.

Blogs do very well in search engines and useful for a content website like sarugby.com

All content including the blog is syndicated(published) to search engines in real time so the post can be available in minutes to hours on search engines

-Typically the way to optimise a site/blog is to use the keywords in the title of the blog/page.

Then repeat the keyword a few times or variations of this keyword in the on-page content.

--

If you type this keyword between the brackets  into Google. ( pistorius pisses it all away )

It will bring up an article on SA rugby.

-

Or if you type in this keyword" jaco taute disaster"

It shows the post ranked number 4 on the UK domain of Google from SA rugby

Beeno

I am not really worried about myself - but this can have an impact on what we write here.   I will not be surprised if a player like Taute reads what we wrote if he Googles issues raised about him - for instance.   So lets keep our arguments within the realm of honest opinions - since we may have a greater impact on issues and players than we realize. And lets cut out th insults - both of players and site members.

I actually mean it, "Clever"Mike, please just tell us you were joking . . . even if it's not true . . . just so we can cling to the vain hope that we're not sharing views with the stupidest and most naive person on the planet.

Mike I am sure Taute or any other player would be inteliigent enough to differentiate between my very sensible posts and rooitwit getting it all wrong etc.

Again no cause for alarm.

Mike this board is very mild re insults and generally has a good tone. However a few insults are par for the course in my view and as long a folk take it with some humour its not too bad surely?

I doubt whether what we think matters to Taute or anybody really. Although that said they could learn something if they did some selective reading here.

 Mike,

John Smit read many blogs before the 2011 WorldCup like on SuperRugby.co.za

He was devastated to read some of opinions people expressed of him, because many fans wanted Bismark in the team.

John Smit considered himself to be a living legend of the game but was saddened to read the comments of the public.

In the past players had to take criticism from journalists, now they have the public who can also publish their own opinions. It is freedom of speech so part of the parcel of being a professional sports fan.

Opinions are like arseholes, everyone has one. Except Jallapeno Rooitwit who only has an Arsehole.

LMAO!

SparkLock, I see you dodged my earlier question to you as to why I will shortly be banned from this site. Have you already sent some strongly-worded e-mails to the editor regarding me? Would it be possible for you to publish these requests to ban me on the message board so we can all have a good laugh?

Jalapeno!- I would not bother contacting the editor about you, just like I did not bother to respond again to your other posting.

When I said that I expect you would be banned, it was just because I had seen others banned that were similar to you.

I see that your intellect is far below mine, and I believe that you agree to this- so we have allready established who the master in our relationship is

Sharkbok lardy may have considered himself  a legend but he kept Bissie out of the side. He and matfield ran the Boks to their own advantage perhaps (while ou pdv drew the coaches salary!)?  If so the comments were called for?

Rooitwit I am sure no communications of the type you mentioned happened.

Wow, that's quite a few edits for someone of such superior intellect, SparkLock. Nice to see you . . . ummm . . . "both" to fix all your hilarious blunders but you've actually missed a few. Don't "both" to thank me, I live to give.

Any chance you can turn this superior intellect of yours to the issues that are bothering our mutual friend "Clever"Mike? Do you think this exchange of ours might end up as a "separate item" on Google?
