Rugby World Cup 2015 draw kind to All Blacks & Boks

At the 2015 World Cup draw in London on Monday (local time), the All Blacks were confirmed in Pool C alongside Investec Rugby Championship newcomers Argentina, Tonga and qualifiers from Europe and Africa.

Pool B features South Africa, Samoa and Scotland – where the latter two are likely to battle it out for a quarter-final spot – while Pool D's big three are France, Ireland and Italy.

But it is Pool A, the undoubted group of death at the 2015 event, that will provide the most intrigue.

Only two of Australia, England and Wales will advance to the quarter-finals and the other will be left to head home with their tails between their legs and face the wrath of their expectant fans.

Australia and England have never failed to advance past the pool stages at a World Cup while Wales have only been bounced out early once – in 1991 when Samoa famously beat them at Cardiff Arms Park to advance to the quarters.

Adding to the interest is the fact the Oceania 1 qualifier, likely to be Fiji, is also in Pool A and will provide a sterner test than a side from Asia, Africa or Europe.

If the All Blacks advance through Pool A undefeated, they will play the second-ranked side in Pool D, which could be any one of France, Italy or Ireland given an upset or two.

From there, as seen in the 2011 event where France lost to Tonga in the pool stages but came within one point of lifting the Webb Ellis Trophy for the first time, anything can happen.

Pool A: Australia, England, Wales, Oceania 1, Playoff winner

Pool B: South Africa, Samoa, Scotland, Asia 1, Americas 2

Pool C: New Zealand, Argentina, Tonga, Europe 1, Africa 1

Pool D: France, Ireland, Italy, Americas 2, Europe 2

damn i was way off, lol, o_O

but pool A are in for the fight of their lives & the Boks can count their lucky stars that they scraped into No2 by the skin of their teeth, cos that could have been them in there.
so dont forget to send the french some flowers my brus, :oP

All Blacks look set to continue their 100% winning ratio during the pool stages record with the pumas their biggest threat.
this could be both good & bad, bad cos thers no real tests for them before the finals, somehting that has helped teams in the past, but good if the All Blacks have senior players to rest before their last All Black tour of duty.

Boks are in a similar boat to the All Blacks, they should sweep through their pool B.
unlikely scenarios but not outside the realm of possibilty is scotland & samoa pulling of an upset win. samoa wont be plagued by the bull [removed] RWC draw of 2011 when they were forced to play 4 test matches in two weeks, the bulk of their team plays in france & the UK & for the first time in its bhistory, manu samoa rugbys adminsitration has been completely revamped after schwalgers tell all letter to the samoan prime minister, couple that with the Boks are not the same team away like they are at home and u never really know.
scotland have thr NH advantage plus the Boks away from the motherland = ,,,,,,,,,,
but the reality is both scenarios are very unlikely and the Boks should win easy.

early predicitons, but im expecting to see in the quater finals the wallabies and eng form pool A, Boks and samoa from pool B, All Blacks and pumas from pool C, france & ireland from pool D.

GO THE MIGHTY MIGHTY ALL BLACKS!!!

samoa are no push overs and the way how they play will put the boks under pressure. if the boks dont build on there and add a attacking dimension to there play they can forget to get any further than the semis.

I woiuld say that if we repeat that rubbish game against Scotland like we played three weeks ago - we could be in trouble in 2015.   I think that somehow it wont happen - but that leave us up against the second qualifier from Pool A.   That could likely be Australia - I do believe that they would beat the Aussies at home and that the Aussies will come second on he log in that pool.

That will mean this quarterfinal could be the  most difficult situation for SA to deal with.   If we can bear the opposing team in the quarter-final - nobody at this stage could potentially forecast the semi situation.

i honestly believe that the wallabies will be one of the strongest contenders come the RWC. the core of their team are already battle hardend with a RWC under their belt and are all in all a very young team with most of them hitting the what most would say is the peak optimum rugby age.

eng still need to prove them selves, beating the All Blacks was impressive, but it has been done before. what is required of them is consistency something they havent proven yet. they do have time in their corner though, with some nice talent to bott, especially m[removed]amoa tuilagis ball carryin and distribution abilities and owne farrels comning along nicely too.

it is pretty exciting thinking of who might be facing who in the quaters, but no doubt conspiracy theories will be rife from the fans if certain teams dont make the semis, and im looking at both NZ and SA, LMAO, :oP

the wallies have enough talent if they stay injury free to top there pool i think. t me its just about match day tactics and game pattern and who manages to enforce there brand the best on the day. if  the wallies learn to attack better and be more dynamic on attack they should be a decent bet for topping the table. SA on the other hand just about scraped through against the woefull scots so i personally dont think the bok pool is all plain sailing. they will need to play to earn that spot. one loss and the path to the cup will become a nightmare for the boks.

it would be nice to get the AB in the semis just adds a more bit more spice to it. it must be said that it will be all out war and who evers manages to win it at the end will face a massive uphill task to get it up for the final. the boks need to add a attacking dimension to there playing style if they want to be serious contenders. defence and forwards only will not win it at the end of the day.
