Lambie at flyhalf
October 10, 2012, 20:52:23

The Sharks have selected Lambie as the flyhalf this weekend  and I assume he would also play in that position in the CC semis and should the Sharks go through to the final - in the final as well..   Whereas it is very likely that Meyer requested that the move be made , it most probably has been made to see what he can produce and on that basis is mot likely a pointer that Meyer wants to use him as a flyhalf in the upcoming tour.   There are other indicators as well  - especially bearing in mind the comments of Pienaar as published - the latter should know the whisperings in the squad and would not have expressed a totally unfounded opinion in the media.

Insofar as the other returning Springboks are concerned - there are no Springboks other than Lambie in the starting line up - a number of them is on the bench though.    If it was not intentional - why was an exception made in respect of Lambie and that in the flyhalf position?

The other interesting selection is Jordaan - he seems to be solid as no 13 - if there was any chance of Pietersen being moved to 13 - the selection of him in that position would have been requested by Meyer.   However, the Sharks cannot do without Jordaan - he is just too good to be left out.

Lambie has had v little game time so its a good idea to play him in the CC. Just hope they settle on his best position so he doesnt become another Pienaar or Russell.

Not sure if the Bulls and WP shd be playing Boks who might still be on the EOY tour but theyve both been so crap in the CC this year that u can understand y the coaches need 2 play there Boks 2 try mak the playoffs.

Jalap

Was quite impressed with the WP backkline this year - but their locks were crap,   I guess that they probably will play Bekker and Etzebeth - but the rest will be rested I am sure.    I like JP Du Plessis especially.

As for the Bulls - they have been crap.   I guess they will play Morne Steyn - he was practising with them.    Don't think Kirchner will be an improvement.

Hieneken actually requested that Pat Lambie play on the bench to practise for the Springbok end of year tour.

Insofar as the WP team is concerned - they selected all the returning Boks for the game on Saturday.   They even selected a dud like De Jongh  to replace JP Du Plessis who played extremely well at 13,  Likely to mean that attacking backline play of WP would go out of the window

Sharkbok, the accuracy of ou Mikey's "reporting" has been quite dodgy lately.
