"1. Rodrigo Roncero (ARG)
Had the second most tackles by a prop (52) and made three pilfers (equal most by a player). He also crossed for a try against the All Blacks in Wellington.

2. Adriaan Strauss (RSA)
Joined the field just 5 minutes into the Boks first game of the Rugby Championship when Bismarck du Plessis went down injured. He went on to be South Africa’s top ball carrier, making 44 runs (for 194 metres) and averaging nearly five tackles per game.

3. Owen Franks (NZ)
Played the second most minutes of any prop (425) and made the most tackles by a front-rower (averaging 8.8 per game); while only conceding three penalties in his six starts.tricio Albacete (ARG)

5 Nathan Sharpe (AUS)

Made the equal second most runs (47 for 210m) and averaged 8.7 tackles per game. He was Australia’s equal leading lineout jumper with 21 lineout wins (including 1 steal).

6 Francois Louw (RSA)
Only started in the Springboks last three games (making one appearance off the bench). The flanker’s highlight match came against the Wallabies at Loftus Versfeld: 1 try, 1 try create, 2 linebreaks, 3 linebreak creates, 1 offload, 5 tackle busts, 1 forced penalty, 15 tackles and 9 runs for 63m.

7 Richie McCaw (NZ)
Made the equal most runs by a forward (47 for 232m); he also made 14 tackle busts; 2 linebreaks; and was the tournament’s top tackler averaging 13 tackles per game (whilst only missing 2 tackles in his six matches).

 

8 Kieran Read (NZ)
Played every minute of every game; made the equal fifth most runs (42 for 241m); the most offloads (9); the most linebreaks by a forward (4); the most try creates (3); had 16 lineout wins and averaged 9.5 tackles per game.

9 Aaron Smith (NZ)
Started in all but one of the All Blacks matches and scored a try in each of their last three games. He ran more than any other starting halfback (15 runs for 130m) while also making 2 linebreaks, 2 linebreak creates and 1 try create.

10 Daniel Carter (NZ)
Was the tournaments leading point-scorer (58 points – 8 cons, 13 pens and 1 dg) despite only playing in four matches. He made the most linebreak creates (4); the second most try creates (2) and averaged nearly 10 metres per run (19 runs for 188m).

11 Bryan Habana (RSA)
Led the competition for tries (7) and tackle busts (24); made the second most metres (369m); and scored a hat-trick against the Wallabies at Loftus Versfeld.

12 Ma’a Nonu (NZ)
Moved back to inside centre for four starts (first two games at outside centre) after Sonny Bill Williams departure. In these four starts he scored two tries; made three linebreaks; 16 tackle busts; 3 offloads; 30 tackles and 27 runs for 224m.

13 Conrad Smith (NZ)
Slotted effortlessly back into the side after returning to the All Blacks side for their final four matches. He averaged 7.2 runs for 67m; made 2 linebreaks, 6 offloads and 16 tackles (missing only 3).

14 Cory Jane (NZ)
Scored five tries in his six matches; including a hat-trick against the Pumas in La Plata. He also played every minute of every game, making 30 runs for 282m, 13 tackle busts and five linebreaks.

15 Israel Dagg (NZ)
Started the tournament with a bang scoring three tries in the All Blacks first four games. Throughout the tournament he made the fourth most metres (322m) and the most kick metres (1789m). He also made 12 tackle busts, 3 linebreaks, 2 linebreak creates, 1 try create and 4 offloads."

Wow, for all the talk of the Bok's fearsome pack they can only contribute 2 players to the tournament's forward pack. [removed]es? You be the judge...

Pretty good team in my opinon - I think the Bok players though prominent and appear aggresive are actually a lot less effective and the real stats show this and moreover they failed to deliver consistency - hence an even spread of OZ, Argies, Boks and Kiwis in the forward pack but the backline totlly dominated by the black shirts
