Rename 4 Nations to : The All Blacks VS the injured left over Rubble of SA/OZ/ARG

 The centrally contracted All Blacks are now resting, whilist our players are all available for Currie Cup action this weekend. Then straight into the EOY tour and back into the SuperXV. Meanwhile Carter and Mccaw have nice sabaticals away from the game to ensure they are preserved in cotton wool, conditioned and peaking for the major tournaments.

It is time to Rename 4 Nations to : The All Blacks VS  the injured left over Rubble of SA/OZ/ARG.

It is noticeable that the All Blacks had by far the least amount of injuries than all the teams in the tournament. Also that the players generally get injured out of the main season and are managed to recover in time for the main tournaments.

Shark it has been noticeable for years now that NZ have managed their players better. We remember the controversial rotation policy that the AB's implemented many years ago that programme was the catalyst for looking after the welfare of our player group.

Fitness is also something that NZ take extremely seriously and no other teams come on so strong at the 60 minute mark than the AB's do. Thats not an accident its planned.

But I have read two articles on superrugby and they have pointed out there concerns about looking after the welfare of the Bok test players and more so the fustration by Meyer in how little control he has on his players and ensuring they are looked after by the seperate unions????

@worldchamps

You are correct, there have been a couple of articles on supersport that say this. Coetzee brings it up in this one.

I know the Currie cup has tradition and all, but with Super rugby, and the massive amount of pressure for SA to win in the 2 tours a year, and the RC, the Currie cup needs to start taking a back seat to the Bok players, especially to those who have played a whole super rugby season.

i guess the All Blacks managing their palyers better then the rest of the world is also cheating.

but hey why point out the obvious flaws with the state of rugby in ur own country, when u can just moan and gripe and whinge about the All Blacks, :P

@sharkbok,

errr would u care to elaborate on this carter sabatical that ur talking about??? and how are u privy to information that no one else is???
the last i heard McCaw had a 6 month sbataical next year and possibly carter in 2014 which is over a year away, and hes indicated its not to rest, but to play overseas??? o_O but i guess PDV and beeno have proven that its so much fun to make things up, so why cant we, :oP

 The main reason that Richie Mccaw is taking a sabatical at the start of next year is clear by the timing-

Next year TMO referees will start to be used in the Southern Hemisphere in January.

New Rules for Rugby Video Referees Take Effect

The Aviva Premiership rugby union season got under way in England last weekend, giving fans and commentators alike the chance to see what difference changes to the rules on responsibilities of the video referee would make to the game.

New guidelines broadening the influence of the television match official (TMO) were announced earlier in the year by the sport’s governing body, the IRB (International Rugby Board). Previously, TMOs were involved only in decisions concerning in-goal play and the act of scoring a try. Now they are able to make decisions on foul play and incidents that happen inside the field of play during the run-up to a try.

The new rules allowing TMOs to advise the referee on such events were used on a trial basis in the Northern Hemisphere during August and will start to be used in the Southern Hemisphere in January.

Ed Morrison, head of professional referee development at the Rugby Football Union, is a supporter of the new rules. Though optimistic about the benefits from extending the TMO’s powers, he is cautious. “Camera angles can be very deceptive, and we’ve got to be very careful in that regard. It’s still a fundamental principle that the match referee is in charge, and much will depend on his instinct,” Morrison told the Telegraph newspaper.

The first test for the TMO came during the game between Wasps and Harlequins. The referee called his video counterpart in to [removed]yse the lead-up to a try by Wasps player Tom Varndell, with the suspicion that the pass from Nicky Robinson had been forward. The TMO found that this had been the case, and the try was not given.

--------

Mccaw is doing prep work to see what he can and cant get away with. It usually when the opposition forwards go through some fast phases and get momentum, and hehold it is Mccaw lying on the ball on the wrong side of the ruck. How did he get their, again? Mccaw will be doing video [removed]ysis of the TMO before he starts playing agian. He! He!

 Shark bok, thanks for heads up. Comment on McCaw you need to remember he's a lawyer so laws and rules are his trade. He learns them inside out and outside in. He can push the boundaries of the laws to the full and beyond to shady grey areas. Areas that the ref  himself must be well educated on before he takes on a high stakes test. Some say cheat...others say genius. You must first know the laws before you can judge on them.
