wait on, there's the Elton John fan club as well. After all the shrieking and wailing for their inclusion you might care to front up and tell us how YOU think they fared....

The sad thing is,  denny, the fat man really believed his own BS. It will take a day or so but he'll be back attacking all those who don't believe in the kindergarten  set. He never learns.

Do you think it was too early for Taute?  Do you believe he could make it as a Bok centre or Fullback moving forward?  I wouldn't write him off completely just yet, he's still very young, another season of S15 and we might be looking at a completely different player.

Denny

I am not a member of any fan club - but I am a realist as well.   We are in trouble and have to get a better team - the old players we had failed anyway - and even worse than the failure was yesterday.   In such a situation Meyer has no option - but to identify players and try to develop them.   In some cases he will get it right - in other cases he will fail to get to get it right initially.

In essence I agree with poi-e in this case.

However, I do not agree with A girl about the whole Under 20 team should be selected to plau for the Boks - some will eventually come through - others won.t.

I don't know poi-e, he looks more like a fullback to me. But is he test class? Who knows, but he certainly wouldn't be selected for the ABs without earning his spot. I completely disagree with Mike on this. You don't put a bunch of greenhorn players on the park, because your senior players are not playing their best. You do what Jake White and NZ does....you give them the jersey when they have earned it.

I dont think he is Springbok material yet.

It is potentially damaging to the career of Jaco Taute playing him. Now many people have written him off.

He was very poor over the weekend. He needs to go back to the drawing board now and play fullback. As a center he look like a crash ball with no pass.

Mozart

Lets put this debate in perspective.   When Jacques Kallis came on the scene as a National Team cricketer he failed miserably in his first 7 tests - his highest score was 15 runs.   A lot of us  said he should be dropped from the team.   But Kallis was kept in the team and he developed afterwards as one of the top ten cricketers who ever played that game.

I am not saying that Taute will ever develop to be a top player - I am saying that you cannot say after two games that he should be discarded as a result of  poor performances in one of the games.    It is totally unreasonable to adopt that stance.   What should be done in this case is intensive coaching and evaluation of progress.  If he continues to show no progress after say 5 games - drop him and try somebody else.

Have we got any better prospects?   Name them - but please leave out that dodo De Jongh - he is based on the Super series of 2012 worse than useless.   Maybe Jordaan in future - but he is allefedly also not a top tackler yet and also need further development.   In attacking play he definitely at this stage a notch above Taute.   Who else have we got?

Mike I'm not saying he should be discarded....I'm saying he wasn't ready. He needs to make a case for himself. Before Kallis even got into the Proteas he had made plenty of runs and taken a lot of wickets. Don't choose somebody based on wishing and hoping and then not in his best position nogal.
