RE: Can I ask the Jaco Taute fan club to step up to the plate.....

Mozart Lets put this debate in perspective. When Jacques Kallis came on the scene as a National Team cricketer he failed miserably in his first 7 tests - his highest score was 15 runs. A lot of us said he should be dropped from the team. But Kallis was kept in the team and he developed afterwards as one of the top ten cricketers who ever played that game. I am not saying that Taute will ever develop to be a top player - I am saying that you cannot say after two games that he should be discarded as a result of poor performances in one of the games. It is totally unreasonable to adopt that stance. What should be done in this case is intensive coaching and evaluation of progress. If he continues to show no progress after say 5 games - drop him and try somebody else. Have we got any better prospects? Name them - but please leave out that dodo De Jongh - he is based on the Super series of 2012 worse than useless. Maybe Jordaan in future - but he is allefedly also not a top tackler yet and also need further development. In attacking play he definitely at this stage a notch above Taute. Who else have we got?
